You Can't Make This Stuff

A brother and sister living near Redwood City have been convicted of forcing their developmentally disabled sister to live in a backyard shed with no electricity while they stole her benefit checks.


That is bad enough, but they are getting a slap on the wrist for grand theft and abuse:

Both were released on their own recognizance pending their sentencing April 8. They are not expected to receive any state prison time and face a maximum of six months in jail.


Unbelievable.
