Biden and Reid

are in Reno today touting the president's stimulus plan. Because both events are closed to the public, I am not attending either one.

I have met both of them in person anyway, and I know there will be more opportunities to meet with Joe Biden, a person of whom I have a high opinion.

Airport and law enforcement officials said there will be minor delays Friday as the motorcade moves from the Grand Sierra Resort to the university campus and the airport.

“We’ve had (President George W.) Bush, (then Sen. Barack) Obama, (Vice President Dick) Cheney and (Alaska Gov. Sarah) Palin, just to name a few, so we have experience dealing with Air Force One and Two and elected officials,” airport spokesman Brian Kulpin said.

Passengers were expected to experience some minor delays to ight and Friday related to the vice president’s visit, Kulpin said.

“Our entire airport is working with the Secret Service to keep the airport operating smoothly,” he said.

Biden is making his first trip to Reno since taking office also to help Reid raise money for his re-election bid for a fifth term and has been on a national tour to discuss the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the $787 billion federal stimulus package passed in February.

Biden will also be at a breakfast fundraiser for Reid, who of course is running for re-election next year.
