It appears there was some fallout from the Nevada election: The publisher and the editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal were basically fired or reassigned from their positions and given other duties with the paper. Both went way, way, way over the top in their hatred for Senator Harry Reid. Ultimately, it was all for naught.
Either the election played a part or there was fallout from the frivolous Righthaven copyright lawsuits, as some commenters following this article noted.
