Because Nevada politicians refused, despite all of the talk to the contrary, to actually diversify the state, there is no end anytime soon to the high unemployment in the state.
I was in the state long enough to know what a boom state it was in the 1980s and 1990s. But all of that is gone, perhaps forever.

Right now I am going through "training" for seasonal work at Harry & David, a place I worked at thirty years ago. If I "pass" their "assessments," by no means assured, I will work about a month before being laid off again. I still have that sub aide job, which is just about impossible to make enough to survive.
