The "unemployed as bums" rhetoric is still alive and well with the GOP.
They'd just as well see them starve.
By the way, the LAST time UI was actually extended was during the last months of the Bush administration, when the economy crashed.
Neither side has "extended" UI but merely pushed back filing dates.
