Obama's Pandering

to the Catholic church and perhaps a few "evangelicals" who wouldn't vote for him anyway have further tarnished the Democratic brand.

I feel as if I am living in a time warp. Birth control was a big issue in the sixties, back when I was a little girl and growing into adolescence. Now that I have one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel, the issue has returned.

Crazy.

Obama’s cave-in represented a blow against the fundamental democratic principle of separation of church and state laid down in the First Amendment to the US Constitution. In defending his climbdown, Obama parroted the line of the religious right and declared that he was motivated by his Christian faith and a desire to protect “religious liberty.”

He was evidently oblivious of the contradiction between a genuine defense of religious freedom, which includes freedom from religion, and the use of the White House as a platform to promote Christianity.

I thought he was an "expert" on constitutional law thanks to his part-time gig at the University of Chicago's law school. He's about as much an expert as Ann Coulter.
