On the last day for the prosecution in the Dana Chandler trial, Chandler didn't reveal those two gas cans to police. Lots of debate in the comments following the article about the "holes" in the theory Chandler used the gas cans because of the seeming circular route she took through Nebraska back to Colorado to avoid police. The mileage seemingly doesn't add up. However, I don't believe that is what happened. I believe she merely went to Topeka, fueled up using the gas cans, and drove all the way back to Colorado. I think getting away with murder was secondary to killing her ex to make sure he would never move on with his life and get remarried. It was the classic "if I can't have him, nobody else will" story.

I also posited the theory she had more than two gas cans. Remember, she BOUGHT two gas cans, with only one found by police, right before the murders. That doesn't mean she didn't have another one or two available.
