A Few Answers to the Question of What an "Implementation Specialist" Does

From Teachers.net:

My question: How is this NOT a "make-work" job for somebody wanting to get out of the classroom or somebody who is a lousy principal?

Some responses:

That is exactly what it is, and CCSD is full of them. There are two levels of teacher in CCSD. Those who are in the classroom and those who are not. Obviously if you work in the classroom you are a sucker who does not have any connections and if you are one of the girls and boys club, you get out of the classroom and SAFE from being fired from bad evaluations. How can a teacher who does not teach, get evaluated as a teacher? Is it a SCAM.
_____

I know a facilitator that has not been in the classroom for 17 YEARS!!! We have other SPED "Project facilitators" answering phones over at the Ed Shed. If it is like Clark County, they are jobs for home girls to get them out of the classroom before they are fired for incompetence. CCSD has a 17 to 1 student to teacher ratio and there are math teachers with 44 kids in their classes. This situation exists to give these ineffective rotten teachers a desk job, and the classroom teachers are carrying their weight. Enough is enough. The district claims poverty, but they have hundreds of teachers with desk jobs.
_____

Pedro Martinez learned this garbage when he was at CCSD, now the disease is spreading across the state. Classroom teachers: Make sure to take a pay freeze or pay cut so these people can never work in the classroom.

It's an absolute scandal. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of these make-work jobs at Washoe County School District, and these people are collecting salaries and padding their pensions and not subject to the evaluations they would almost certainly fail in their old jobs.
