Obituary: Second-wave feminist and author Shulamith Firestone, 67, was found dead in her apartment on Tuesday. She wrote the pioneering book The Dialectic of Sex. It was published in 1970 when she was just 25 years old.

I read that book many years ago.

Tragically she had suffered from mental illness for many years, and it is believed she had been dead for at least a week when her body was discovered.
