Democratic National Convention: Day 3

Live stream of convention is here.

The nominees will be speaking tonight. Beau Biden just nominated his dad as VP, and the rules were suspended so he could be approved by voice vote.

I didn't hear any "noes" in the audience.

Now the major candidates are talking. Joe Biden, after an introduction of sorts from his wife Jill, is doing fine in his speech. Like Bill Clinton he LOVES to hear the sound of his voice and will talk your ears off.

I cringe at the thought of listening to Obama, however. The "great orator" isn't all what he is cracked up to be.

Now Obama is on, stammering his way through the material. He's also lying when he said he didn't want teachers to be fired; hell, this guy CHEERED on the (failed) firing of the Central Falls, Rhode Island, teachers.

I should just go and take the dogs for a walk.

Obama is now trying to take the positive path with goals, including that for education. God help us all.

He is full of shit on education. The problem is JOBS, not education.

You son of a bitch. Brag about destroying the public education system under some phony "standards." Bill Gates and Eli Broad have bought you lock, stock, and barrel.

You stupid ass. Peddle that goddamned H1B crap of there not being qualified people for jobs in the United States because of a "lousy" education.

He and Paul Ryan should be on the Pinocchio ticket. God, what a liar!

Time to walk the dogs.

Since Mitt and Paulnoccio (as one wag called him) appear to be throwing the election, we better brace for four more years of the same neoliberal horseshit.

Lots of lip service about Head Start, foreign policy, Medicare, and Social Security. Meanwhile, he does everything in his power to dismantle programs in the name of "reaching across the aisle" Kumbaya politics.

Obama's just sickening. I don't know how he keeps a straight face.

The longer he talks, the more likely I will be voting third party for president for the first time in my life or else write in my name for president.

He reminds me of the actor Jimmie Walker, who played J.J. on the seventies sitcom Good Times. A total "jive talking" bullshitter.

Obama's done with the speech. I am sure the pundits will call it the greatest speech of all time despite the fact that although the delivery got better, the message was the biggest load of horseshit ever shoveled into the faces of the American voting public. I yearned for George W. Bush--hell, even Clint Eastwood, as painful as THAT was. What I can't stand is a huckster.

Some speeches and highlights. Of course the NBC videos have a playlist of all of the highlights if you don't care to use each separate video:

Senator John Kerry gave one of the best speeches of this convention, believe it or not. You wonder what in the hell happened to him to give the best speech of his entire career:

The President and Bullshitter-in-Chief. Virtually everything reeked of insincerity and there were layers of lies. Lies upon lies. I can't wait to see what the WSWS and Black Agenda Report say about this speech. It was total contempt for the intelligence of the voter:
