He's a blithering idiot. It's amazing he ever graduated from law school. However, with so many lawyers being full of shit and/or unethical, I shouldn't be surprised there are so many dingbats in their profession bloviating about things they don't know anything about and refuse to do the research before shooting off their mouths.
The truth is that the treaty opposition was just the GOP nutters throwing a hissy fit because Obama got re-elected. They didn't give a crap about the UN or about disability rights.
The only question is whether the treaty can be eventually ratified by the new Congress.
John Kerry called out the dipshit former senator and failed presidential candidate:
"He either simply hasn’t read the treaty or doesn't understand it or he was just not factual in what he said," Kerry said, "because the United Nations has absolutely zero, zero, I mean zero ability to order or to tell or to even - I mean they can suggest - but they have no legal capacity to tell the United States to do anything under this treaty. Nothing.”
The nominees will be speaking tonight. Beau Biden just nominated his dad as VP, and the rules were suspended so he could be approved by voice vote.
I didn't hear any "noes" in the audience.
Now the major candidates are talking. Joe Biden, after an introduction of sorts from his wife Jill, is doing fine in his speech. Like Bill Clinton he LOVES to hear the sound of his voice and will talk your ears off.
I cringe at the thought of listening to Obama, however. The "great orator" isn't all what he is cracked up to be.
Now Obama is on, stammering his way through the material. He's also lying when he said he didn't want teachers to be fired; hell, this guy CHEERED on the (failed) firing of the Central Falls, Rhode Island, teachers.
I should just go and take the dogs for a walk.
Obama is now trying to take the positive path with goals, including that for education. God help us all.

The longer he talks, the more likely I will be voting third party for president for the first time in my life or else write in my name for president.
He reminds me of the actor Jimmie Walker, who played J.J. on the seventies sitcom Good Times. A total "jive talking" bullshitter.
Obama's done with the speech. I am sure the pundits will call it the greatest speech of all time despite the fact that although the delivery got better, the message was the biggest load of horseshit ever shoveled into the faces of the American voting public. I yearned for George W. Bush--hell, even Clint Eastwood, as painful as THAT was. What I can't stand is a huckster.

Senator John Kerry gave one of the best speeches of this convention, believe it or not. You wonder what in the hell happened to him to give the best speech of his entire career:
The President and Bullshitter-in-Chief. Virtually everything reeked of insincerity and there were layers of lies. Lies upon lies. I can't wait to see what the WSWS and Black Agenda Report say about this speech. It was total contempt for the intelligence of the voter:
A frightened, shivering dog has been rescued after floating alone on an ice floe down Poland's Vistula River and then 15 miles (24 kilometers) out into the Baltic Sea.
Now his saviors just have to figure out who really owns him.
Four people have already claimed him, but so far rescuers say there's been no wagging tail of joy from the miracle dog they nicknamed "Baltic."
The dog's frozen odyssey came as Poland suffers through a winter cold snap, with temperatures dipping to below minus 4 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 20 Celsius).
The thick-furred male dog was found adrift Monday by the crew of the Baltica, a Polish ship of ocean scientists carrying out research in the Baltic Sea. Researcher Natalia Drgas said Thursday the rescue was difficult and at one point it seemed the dog had drowned.
This story was very sad and another chapter in the life of a family that suffered a horrible injustice.

John Kerry had contacted Elizabeth Edwards a couple of days ago. He is very saddened about the whole situation, especially given the fact he had JRE thoroughly vetted back in 2004, and he was totally free of any taint of scandal.
The GOP plots a comeback, but of course the problem is if they continue to obstruct, obstruct, obstruct, they will be put into further irrelevance.
Most of these elected officials simply don't care about the American voter, and because this is true, Democrats should heed John Kerry's words to ignore these bastards.
Changing the filibuster rules in the Senate so Republicans who want to obstruct have to literally talk the bill to death 24/7, would take care of that problem.
This clip was from two months ago, right about the time everybody was ready to throw Geraldine Ferraro overboard.
I thought Obama wasn't a Muslim, so what qualifications does he have to deal with Muslims? He's black all right, or bi-racial, but what does that have to do with dealing with Muslims?
Kerry obviously got a pass over this clip. Geraldine Ferraro wasn't so lucky.

But when her congressional bid sagged, she decided she wanted to keep her seat and asked Obama to move aside. Not only did he decline, but he challenged the legality of her nominating petitions and those of other candidates, ultimately knocking them all off the Democratic primary ballot.

She will be more like a Michael Dukakis if Democratic primary/caucus voters don't wake the hell up.
Again, I can't believe the party insiders want to commit electoral suicide with somebody this bad a candidate in the GE. Not a bad senator, not a bad person, just a terrible GE candidate in terms of actually winning the White House.
Of course Turd wants Democrats to coalese around Hillary Clinton because Edwards--certainly NOT Obama--is a real threat to Republican rule.
Any goddamned fool but the most naive and delusional knows this. But let's hope the Democratic primary voters aren't naive and delusional and actually nominate Hillary.
After all, there is some previous history about Turd's antics:
In the run-up to the 2004 Democratic National Convention, when it was not yet clear who Bush's opponent would be that November, Rove and his aides had begun to fear that their most dangerous foe would be then-Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina.
With his Southern base, charismatic style and populist message, Edwards, they believed, could be a real threat to Bush's reelection.
But instead of attacking Edwards, Rove's team opened fire at Kerry.
Their thinking went like this, Dowd explained: Democrats, in a knee-jerk reaction to GOP attacks, would rally around Kerry, whom Rove considered a comparatively weak opponent, and make him the party's nominee. Thus Bush would be spared from confronting Edwards, the candidate Republican strategists actually feared most.
Unlike Kerry, who had been in public service for decades, Edwards was a political newcomer and lacked a long record that could be attacked. And, unlike former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, who had been the front-runner but whose campaign was collapsing in Iowa, Edwards couldn't easily be painted as "nutty."
I have been saying this for YEARS, and yet far too many Democrats live in denial.
