Of Course Rick Santorum Never Read the Treaty

He's a blithering idiot. It's amazing he ever graduated from law school. However, with so many lawyers being full of shit and/or unethical, I shouldn't be surprised there are so many dingbats in their profession bloviating about things they don't know anything about and refuse to do the research before shooting off their mouths.

The truth is that the treaty opposition was just the GOP nutters throwing a hissy fit because Obama got re-elected. They didn't give a crap about the UN or about disability rights.

The only question is whether the treaty can be eventually ratified by the new Congress.

John Kerry called out the dipshit former senator and failed presidential candidate:

"He either simply hasn’t read the treaty or doesn't understand it or he was just not factual in what he said," Kerry said, "because the United Nations has absolutely zero, zero, I mean zero ability to order or to tell or to even - I mean they can suggest - but they have no legal capacity to tell the United States to do anything under this treaty. Nothing.”

Etc.

Now we know for certain who won the Mega Millions in Maryland. While their names are anonymous, they have been described as two teachers and an administrator who split their share of the winnings.

One Maryland winner is a special education teacher, one is an elementary school teacher and the third is a school administrator. All three said they plan to continue to work, noting that they were committed to their students, Martino said.

"One said 'I can't give up on my kids," he said.

The winners had watched the news coverage over the last week - including stories about a Baltimore woman who claimed initially to have the ticket, then said she had lost it - and joked with each other, knowing that they had the winning ticket, Martino said. He said the woman who was in the news last week is not a winner. Calls by the Associated Press on Tuesday to the woman, Mirlande Wilson, and her lawyer were not immediately returned.

Feminists have long decried the existence of beauty pageants, and the controversy over the fake female contestant "Jenna Talackova" may help in finally getting rid of the anachronistic contests.

After all, if men can compete in beauty pageants by fraudulently passing themselves off as "women," there is no point in having them.

Can you IMAGINE if "Jenna" actually won the Canadian contest and went on to win "Miss Universe"? What an insult it would be to the female sector of the human race to think the most "beautiful woman in the world" is actually a man! People with serious mental health problems would be celebrated for being surgically mutilated instead of getting the help they need. Real women would be thought of as not good enough to compete with fakes.

It's total madness. I blame the gay/lesbian community for ever accepting this pathology as anything resembling normal behavior going so far as to fighting for these people's "rights" to mutilate themselves and pass themselves off as something they aren't and never will be.

As for the general population, nobody outside of drag queen fans are going to watch the pageants anymore.

Good news on the death penalty front: It is possible Connecticut will be the fifth state in five years to do away with the death penalty.

This despite public opposition which still can't wrap around its head that as long as there are not foolproof ways to ensure innocent people aren't put to death, the death penalty is not an acceptable way to deal with violent offenders. It's all about "an eye for an eye," revenge, and all common sense is thrown out the window.

I Still Don't Believe Rick Santorum Will Get the GOP Presidential Nomination

regardless of what happens tonight in Michigan. Even if he wins the nomination, more people will vote for Obama and he'll be re-elected easily. That could well be the gameplan for those powers that be who control both political parties. Santorum sounds too blatantly theocratic, too fascistic, to be considered electable. Because of his extremism, whether real or fabricated, we will be stuck with Obama for another four years and neoliberal policies including dismantling the New Deal and public education (to name just two areas) will continue unabated.

THAT is what scares me more than a Santorum presidency, a presidency that will never happen.

If by some remote chance Rick Santorum, with his extreme religious views, actually becomes the GOP nominee for president, it will be proof positive the Republicans are deliberately throwing the election to Obama. There is NO way Santorum could possibly win. As lousy as Obama is, at least he is a known quantity. Santorum simply doesn't have nationwide appeal to be considered electable.

Remember, the GOP did this in 2008 with McCain/Palin when they realized the economy was going to go into the tank, and there is no doubt in my mind they would do it again.

Besides, those donors who control both political parties will back the one who seems to be less extreme to the public, yet he will do their dirty work anyway.

A new poll shows Santorum just an itty-bitty bit ahead of Romney. I still am skeptical he will be the nominee.
