OF COURSE the financial elites LOVE high unemployment, including Obama, because it is a part of neoliberal philosophy. That philosophy says that high unemployment is beneficial because it lowers wages and salaries further and keeps current employees from demanding better working conditions, pay, and benefits.
The problem, however, is far more acute for those who are out of work or are relegated to part-time or contigent work like yours truly.
