When you realize many of the founders of the "new right" as it was known in the 1960s and 1970s were once "leftist" radicals, it is not surprising that they and their ideological descendants would resort to Stalinist tactics to further their right-wing agenda.
On top of that are the Koch brothers, whose father had business ties to the old Soviet Union and was later one of the founders, I believe, of the John Birth Society.
The author of the linked post completely misses the ball. What is going on now has nothing to do with Henry Wallace or the Communist Party 60 or 70 years ago or can even be compared to it. There wasn't the money behind the CP, unlike the Tea Party groups and all of the think tanks bought and paid for by the Kochs and other billionaires.
