Obituary: British-born actress Sheila MacRae, 92, has died. She is perhaps remembered best for having played the old Audrey Meadows role of "Alice Kramden" in the "Honeymooners" part of Jackie Gleason's 1960s variety series The Jackie Gleason Show originating from Miami Beach, as I recall.
The "Honeymooners" sketch evolved from a standard sitcom format to a more musical format. Often if not always the skits took the entire hour. I am going from memory here, and I have not seen these skits in nearly fifty years.
MacRae was also once married to actor and musical star Gordon MacRae.
