It was Baffert vs. Baffert with a little Gary Stevens thrown in as two-year-old champion and favorite American Pharoah, the horse with misspelled name, has won this year's Kentucky Derby. Victor Espinoza is his jockey, making it Espinoza's second consecutive win. He rode California Chrome to victory last year.

Firing Line, ridden by 52-year-old Gary Stevens, came in second. Undefeated Dortmund came in third.
The time was 2:03.02. It was no threat to Secretariat's 42-year-old record.
