American Pharoah is the favorite for this year's race. His last name is misspelled. It should read "Pharaoh." Oh, well.
Here are the picks by some "experts" who have followed the careers of the favorites.
American Pharoah and Dortmund seem to be their favorites to win this year.
Bob Baffert is the trainer of both horses. American Pharoah was champion two-year-old colt last year.
Even though it doesn't mean much since it is several generations, both horses are descended from Secretariat on their dams' side. American Pharoah also has Mr. Prospector on his sire's side, while Dortmund has Northern Dancer on his sire's side. Dortmund has Northern Dancer something like four times in his pedigree.
