That is the ONLY way a teacher in the United States can approach having a middle-class lifestyle in most parts of the country. You have to be married. Try being single and be on a teacher's salary. You can never buy a house on a teacher's income, and by "house" I mean a stick house on a lot, not a mobile home paying space rent or a condo.
The author still believes in the myth of "tenure"--there is NO such thing, just the right to a sham hearing--for public school teachers.
Note he doesn't use his real name. He doesn't even use a pseud. He doesn't because he is afraid of retaliation by administrators.
