No More of This "He Died Doing What He Loved" Crap

Why is it every single time some mountaineer or extreme sport athlete or just plain daredevil idiot dies in an easily preventable accident somebody has to come up with the trite phrase, "He (or she) died doing what he loved"? I don't think the person who died truly wanted to die that way, leaving grieving loved ones behind, horrified witnesses to see his death, or wanting to have the clean-up crew to clean up the mess his body ends up being.

There is nothing noble about dying unnecessarily. What it actually turns out being is the person who dies is a fool who takes foolish risks and ends up paying the price.

I often will read some idiot who writes the "doing what he loved" nonsense adding that it was so much better the person died in the prime of life or in his or her youth than rotting away in some nursing home. Never mind the person in the nursing home most likely lived a full life before going into decline. These idiots who take these unnecessary risks decided they weren't even going to have a life to live.

More about the latest foolhardy fool:

A well-known climber who has thousands of followers on the social network Weibo died while performing a skyscraper stunt in China, BBC News reports. Wu Yongning, 26, died on Nov. 8 after falling from a 62-story building in the city of Changsha.

Yongning's death was confirmed by his girlfriend in a social media post this month.

Yongning was known to post dramatic videos of himself perched on top of tall buildings without the use of safety equipment.

According to Chinese media reports, he was participating in a challenge to win a substantial amount of money when he recorded the Weibo video.
