WTF does this have to do with Kim Kardashian? Are you implying that women of the early 20th century had big rear ends, and that is what got them the vote? Do you people realize bustles were all fabric?
More to the point, what qualfications are there to write for The Atlantic? Once upon a time it was one of the two or three best magazines in the United States. Now we get articles shaming women or peddling Koch talking points about Social Security and Medicare needing to be "fixed," and other such silliness.
