Saturday Reads

As I was listening to the AFSCME discussion in Las Vegas by almost all the Democratic presidential candidates, Beto O'Rourke had announced there was a shooting in El Paso.  He left immediately after his talk.  At least 20, last I heard, had died and many others were injured in the Walmart shooting.

Amazingly, the suspect is alive and was arrested.

A Walmart employee told NBC affiliate KTSM in El Paso that she was working by the self-checkout when gunshots rang out. The employee, who only wanted to be identified by her first name, Leslie, said she initially thought boxes had been dropped.

“I thought it was just like loud boxes being dropped or something, until they got closer and closer,” she said. "That’s when I looked at my co-worker, and we looked at each other like shocked and scared.”

“I got all the people that I could, I even found a little girl that was missing from her parents, and I got her, too. I tried to get as many people as I could out,” the Walmart worker said.

Like Elliot Rodger, this guy is said to have a manifesto.
_____

The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Patrick Crusius.  More information is coming out about him.
______

The manifesto he alleged wrote is four pages long.
______

You can read it right here.

It is racist and xenophobic, but he is polite in his writings.  Too bad he didn't get killed today, for he is certain  to wind up in Huntsville on death row.  Texas doesn't mess around.
