The New York Times yesterday had a very good article about the devastation the Almeda Fire in southern Oregon has wrought on Phoenix, Oregon. The fire is now 100-percent contained, with some 2,357 structures, both homes and businesses, destroyed in Phoenix, nearby Talent, and the outskirts of both towns.
Trump approved disaster aid for the stricken area.
The Obenchain fire north of this, near Trail, is still only about 25-percent contained. Rain is expected tomorrow.

Former Nevada governor Brian Sandoval is in line for the presidency--of the University of Nevada, Reno, which I attended in the 1980s and 1990s. He was recommended for the job.
He could stay in the job for years since he is 57 now. He doesn't have any university administrative experience, however.
