He died doing what he loved, case #5999.

Frank Kansco, 35, was found unresponsive in the landing area of Sky's the Limit Skydiving Center in East Stroudsburg, where he worked, at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, police said. 

An emergency services official said that his parachute had opened, reported WFMZ-TV, but it was unclear why he crash-landed on the landing area. The incident is being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police and the FAA.

The Staten Island native was taken by helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, where surgeons battled to save his life before he was pronounced dead from traumatic injuries, authorities said.

Obituary:  Haiti's president Jovenel Moise, 53, was assassinated in his home.

Unidentified gunmen stormed the property at 01:00 local time (05:00 GMT), interim PM Claude Joseph said.

He has called for calm and declared a state of emergency nationwide.

Mr Moïse had led Haiti, one of the poorest nations in the world, since 2017 but had faced widespread protests demanding his resignation.

The nation's recent history has been plagued by coups, political instability and widespread gang violence.
