I think J.D. Vance's religious fanaticism, which isn't typical of Catholics in general, by the way, forms more of his ideas than any childhood "trauma." EVERY kid growing up has some sort of trauma, and they don't turn into raving misogynists like Vance.
Furthermore, Kamala Harris has stepkids, while Pete Buttigieg and his husband exploited poor women to give birth for them for money, which renders him unelectable for any national office besides being openly gay.
It simply doesn't follow that if you are right-wing, you will automatically have kids, while if you are on the so-called "left," you don't. That is just stupid. Furthermore, if you are a wingnut with kids, there is no guarantee those kids will grow up with the same political/religious beliefs that you have:

I am sure glad there is a website called Trip Check for Oregon that has current road conditions all over the state. I would have been shit out of luck if I hadn't seen that site. Highway 26, which goes to John Day and other parts of central Oregon, was closed Wednesday because of a wildfire. Today it was open, and that is a good thing, for there was a 33-mile closure on US Highway 20, my usual route to Ontario (and Boise) thanks to a wildfire there. It was another 100 miles, give or take a few, out of the way, but I did make it back to the Rogue Valley. It is an inferno in eastern Oregon. There is a blanket of smoke everywhere into Idaho. By the time I got to near Bend, much of the area was clear, and it wasn't too hot, either. It was actually pleasant, in the low 80s, and the temperatures stayed that way until I got to Medford. There is smoke from some of the California fires.
Thanks to climate change and all that, there never were the wildfires like this when I was a kid.
A report about the Durkee Fire between Baker, Oregon, and Ontario, Oregon, which is now combined with the Cow Valley Fire. The fires together have consumed some 400,000 acres, the largest wildfire in the United States currently. It is the size of Multnomah County, which I am sure the wingnuts that overpopulate the eastern Oregon region wish the fire was there instead:
