Violence always solves problems:

A South Philadelphia man enraged because a family was talking during a Christmas showing of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button decided to deal with the situation by shooting the father, police said.

James Joseph Cialella Jr., 29, of the 1900 block of South Hollywood Street, is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons violations.

His alleged victim, whom police did not identify, was shot in the left arm. He was treated at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Even more unbelievable are some of the comments following the article. A few:

Maybe the alleged shooter feared for his life. Just asking someone to be quiet in that theater is risking your life. I've been in there when movies had to be stopped because of arguments breaking out because someone DARED to politely ask someone to be quiet. I've been in there when the fire alarm was pulled as a prank and the theater had to evacuate. Let's also not forget when thugs where waiting outside and robbing people with shotguns. I don't think this paper is telling the whole story, and I think I know why.

It's yet another example of how society has grown so selfish and egocentric ... a movie theater is NOT your living room ... I don't condone or approve of the violence or crime committed and the shooter should be punished ... but how many people read this article and thought to themselves "I can see how that can happen"

Yeah I hate to say it, but this guy did a public service. Not that I condone violence, but it sounds like this family had the kind of manners that could push a sane person to do something drastic, let alone some unhinged cook with a gun. Maybe people will think twice before running their mouths at the movies.

Everyone knows not to talk during a movie. Forchrissake they say it in plain English right before the movie starts. If you're going to act like a d*uchebag, bad things might happen to you. Its rude, and its disrespectful. Its a really tough lesson to have to learn, but I bet you anything that every single member of that family will think long and hard before talking during a movie EVER again. Darwin was right.

Several public employees in Piqua, Ohio, pooled their money together and apparently won the $207 million Mega Millions jackpot:

One of the winners, and a city employee, said Sunday all but one of the winning ticket holders are also city employees. He said 12 to 14 people have a stake in the winnings, and those winners agreed, after talking with their lawyer, to withhold comment.

Enderle said most of the winners work for the 20-member street department, which would lose more than half of its staffing if every winner chose to put their jobs behind them.

Enderle said he met with the winners and their supervisors Monday morning. The winners were told he thought it would be best for them to take a couple of days off to think about what they want to do in coming weeks.

There would be no question what I would do, and that's instantly retire.
