For Wills and Kate, it's a boy. He's a fairly big baby, too, at 8 pounds, 6 ounces.

Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight, said a spokesman for the palace.

Palace sources said the couple chose to delay the public announcement of the birth to allow them to spend 'quality time' together.
In a statement tonight William said simply: ‘We could not be happier.’

William's father, Charles, the Prince of Wales said this evening: 'Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild.
'It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy.

'Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone’s life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.'

The tabloids will also be happy for the next seventy or eighty years documenting the ups and downs of royal family. It appears the royal family has once again become popular largely due to the popularity of Wills and Kate.

The Wedding of the Day

I have to say nobody does weddings like the British royal family. They know how to do it, with all of the ceremony and pomp.

That's why hundreds of millions of not billions of people watch royal weddings like William and Kate's.

I even woke up at ten to three this morning to watch the ceremony live, held at Westminster Abbey, certainly one of the world's great buildings, on BBC America. I woke up just when Queen Elizabeth arrived.

And yes, Kate's dress was absolutely perfect. I was hoping for a Grace Kelly-style dress which is never dated, and I wasn't disappointed. Thank God it wasn't a sleazy dress like so many modern wedding dresses, and it wasn't the goddamned mess Diana's was. Diana's looked like a bunch of bed sheets sewn up together. It swallowed her up although the veil was beautiful. Kate's was perfect, but of course this woman knows how to put herself together.

The big question given recent history is whether the marriage will last. All I can say is if this one doesn't, then just about nobody's will.

News, Etc.

Queen Elizabeth may have to live another 50 or 60 years given the UK's opinion of Prince William's new or rather old fiancee Kate Middleton. The public doesn't accept Camilla, so Prince Charles is out of the running to be king, and it appears "Wills" may meet a similar fate.

Of course there is always the chance Prince Harry could pick somebody suitable, but he has a long way to go to look respectable himself.

In all seriousness, this arrangement might actually work out considering the two have known each other for eight or nine years. It was rather poignant the reason why the prince gave Kate his mother's engagement ring.

Another long litigation has ended:

The Jefferson Starship remains aloft after a legal settlement between guitarist Paul Kantner, who has been using the band's name for years, and vocalist Grace Slick and their ex-manager, who tried to stop him.

Lawyers for both sides said Friday they had resolved a federal court suit with a licensing agreement that allows Kantner to perform as the Jefferson Starship while acknowledging that Slick and former band manager Bill Thompson own the rights to the name. Kantner will pay a license fee that his attorney described as modest, though neither side would disclose the amount.

Her possible brother-in-law was caught allegedly snorting vodka:

BOOZE-loving Prince Harry was blasted last night for snorting VODKA in a potentially lethal drinking game.

Harry, 23, was captured on video as he inhaled a bottle cap full of the neat spirit through his nose while on holiday with girlfriend Chelsy Davy.

In the footage — seen by The Sun — pals egg the royal on as he first takes a SWIG of booze, then SPITS it into the bottle top.

Harry — wearing a Crocodile Dundee hat — covers his right nostril with his finger before taking a huge SNIFF through the other.

He throws back his head to take the full “hit” of vodka — and then reels in shock. The Prince is seen shuddering as his friends cheer.

Wills Didn't Want

to commit to marriage anytime in the near future, and the royal family agreed he shouldn't rush down the aisle and have another marital mess like his mom and dad's marriage.

The final death blow to Wills' relationship with his university sweetheart was delivered by grandfather Prince Philip.

He declared: "You can't string her along for ever."

It kinda sounds like his dad and Camilla some 35 years ago.

Wills and Kate

decided to split.

I believe Kate was the first serious girlfriend the prince has had. They both need to get out there and date others.

The bad news is that the media will keep trying to get him married off just like they did to his dad.
