Columnist David Brooks apparently is writing for sociopaths when he incoherently blathers about "limits" to empathy.
The ability to empathize with others is what differentiates the mentally healthy from those who are sick in the head or who have social skill disorders like Asperger syndrome.
Maybe he is just trying to justify the right's political sociopathy by engaging in psychobabble.
Who knows?

David Brooks, once one of the big shills for Obama as long as Clinton was in the race, has, like many others on the "conservative" end of the spectrum, decided to turn against Obama. With Brooks, he has decided to take dead aim at Obama's overwrought or simply rotten speech of Thursday night.
