Convention Opinion

David Brooks, once one of the big shills for Obama as long as Clinton was in the race, has, like many others on the "conservative" end of the spectrum, decided to turn against Obama. With Brooks, he has decided to take dead aim at Obama's overwrought or simply rotten speech of Thursday night.

I do admit I laughed a couple of times at the article.

Obama's Acceptance Speech

The World Socialist Web Site didn't think much of Obama's speech:

Obama seeks the presidency under conditions where the protracted economic decline of American capitalism makes impossible any return to the liberal reform policies of a Truman. An Obama administration would involve the use of liberal demagogy—without any actual economic concessions to working people—to support an aggressive program of American militarism in the Middle East, Central Asia and throughout the world.

Obama's Acceptance Speech

Just in case you missed it, here is the entire 42:55 speech of last night:

MSNBC's access was hard last night, I suspect because of all of the hits.

Democratic Convention

Here is a report of Cicero II's (as in Illinois) masterpiece of a speech, a speech where he ripped off passages and ideas from other politicians.

Worst speech ever. I don't include our dictator's mumblings in that estimation. Everybody knows he can't string two words together.

Cicero II's Masterpiece

Yes, Obama's "masterpiece" at Mile High was stunning all right. Stunning that he stole huge chunks of his speech from others, including Hillary Clinton and MLK.

I doubt Joe Biden had any hand in this shitpile speech. Obama tried to outdo the Clintons or even Biden, and he fell down on his ass.

Democratic Convention VII

Here is the first part of Obama's speech:

Or it was. It appears there are so many hits on MSNBC I cannot even get the embed code for the speech. I may have to wait until tomorrow.

Democratic Convention V

That was the dullest goddamned speech I ever heard in my life. They should hire him for Guantanamo to torture the prisoners.

Then, when Obama finally finished, they played "Only in America," I think the song is, the song BUSH USED IN HIS CAMPAIGN. I couldn't believe it.

I will upload the video for the insomniacs out there when it comes up.

If anybody really believes this was the " very greatest political speech ever given by anyone at any time throughout all the history of the entire world," he or she is totally, completely and totally batshit. There is no other word for people who praise this hideous, badly delivered speech. Not to mention it is dishonest to praise it to the rafters. After all, Obama plagiarized chunks of MLK's speeches into his "masterpiece."

Democratic Convention IV

The Messiah will be showing up momentarily. Dick Durbin is getting to introduce him.

I'll post the Messiah's message when it is up.

Democratic Convention III

Just in case you care, here is the Reader's Digest version of the Messiah's Sermon on the Mount.

Democratic Convention II

If you watch the live stream of the convention, you will see the stadium is packed, even more packed than the Hitler rallies of bygone days.

I suspect the reason for the "Greek" facade of the stage is Obama is trying to recreate the columns of the Lincoln Memorial, the site of Martin Luther King, Jr's famous "March on Washington" keynote address, which he gave 45 years ago today. At least from a distance.

Close up it looks like a cheap ripoff of Tara.

Actually I think it's a cheap facade of the White House. The "windows" give the damned thing away.

Campaign Egotism

Obama must fancy himself as Julius Caesar or Cicero or some goddamned thing, and holds himself up to more ridicule.

He should have used a facsimile of this instead:

When he loses in November, I expect him to nail himself to a cross.

Campaign Gossip

The media are making much of the story or rumor Bill Clinton will not be attending Obama's revival meeting--er, acceptance speech--Thursday.

The media peddled for years a "feud" between the Clintons and the Gores; when that fizzled out, they started peddling a "feud" between the Clintons and Obamas.
