here is a YouTube of the great Carole Lombard "singing" with Fred MacMurray accompanying her. Of course he COULD play musical instruments and sing; Carole Lombard couldn't sing her way out of a paper bag if she tried. Husband Clark Gable did better in "Puttin' on the Ritz":
