Matt Bai Misses the Boat

with his depiction of this president as a "progressive" and not a "populist." Obama, in fact, is neither. He is not Roosevelt, either one of them, and in fact is more in line with his "hero" Ronald Reagan when it comes to policies. He's clearly to the right of Carter and Clinton, two of the more "conservative" Democrats we have had in recent decades.

The truth is Obama is a neoliberal, or Friedmanite, and all of his policies point in that direction, most egregiously in the field of education.

Friedmanite ideas and policies have been discredited and debunked, but our politicians, including Obama, continue to peddle this garbage because that is what their financial backers still believe.

They believe it because Friedmanism benefits THEM, while everybody else is screwed over.

While the Unemployment Rate Has Gone Down

to 10 percent, the real problem is the fact there aren't enough jobs being generated for the 15 million who are out of work, including yours truly.

It appears Obama wants to do very little about it. After all, he is a neoliberal at heart, surrounded by Friedmanites, who, despite the fact Friedmanism doesn't work and inevitably leads to slavery and near-slavery, persist in believing their discredited and debunked cult.

How Did Economists Fuck It Up So Badly

when it came to trying to put their harebrained theories into practice?

My explanation is this: The Friedmanites believed in a "free-market" religion with few or no regulations on businesses, theories which were in direct contrast to historical precedent, the realities of the "market," and common sense.

Then when the Friedmanite religion because actual economic reality, the economy headed south and shows few signs of rebounding.

Friedmanism is still alive and well, even though we have a Democrat in the White House, and even though it is a colossal failure. Look no further than the horrendous, idiotic Arne Duncan, a big fan of charter schools, which are nothing more than private schools financed by the taxpayers, and you will see this idiocy still at work. Privatizing of governmental functions, of what used to be called the "common good," continues unabated.

Thanks to Far Too Many People

having gotten drunk with Reaganism and the false Friedmanite religion of the 1980s, this country and the world are suffering from a horrendous economic hangover.

And far too many people, including some so-called Democrats in Congress, they still haven't dried out.

Goodbye and Good Riddance

to Friedmanism, once it is finally purged from the political consciousness.

However, the Republicans who still believe in this destructive religion will clung to it to the death, for if they jettison it they will have no political party at all.

Political Delusions

Despite evidence all around Friedmanism is a colossal disaster, our dictator claims "free enterprise" as he defines it is the way to go, even if it means everything goes to hell.

Wall Street Mess

Now that Congress and our dictator have promised the crooks and incompetents of Wall Street a pile of handouts which you and I will be paying for years to come, the market rose sharply today.

While each candidate has proposals, they still promote the failed Friedmanism begun by Ronald Reagan that has all but destroyed this country.

As long as either candidate does the bidding of the financial elites, we are screwed, completely and totally screwed.

Economic Mess

Former President Carter says Bush's economic policies, which actually began in earnest during the Reagan years with its embrace of the Friedman cult, is responsible for the world economic mess.

George claims the bailout will work in destroying our country and rendering it helpless to do anything for people, but it will take time.

Unfortunately, there is no indication from either of our major candidates they will reject Friedmanism and go back to re-regulation and actually doing things for the American people.

The Booming Economy

Interest rates have been cut around the world.
_____

It doesn't take a Nobel Prize economist to figure out Friedmanism, with its adherence to a religion of laissez faire and glorification of greed, is at the root of our economic mess.

We have known this for decades; the Great Depression proved beyond ALL doubt "free market economics" won't work for the same reason communistic running of economies didn't work: both ignore the realities of human nature. There has to be a referee which looks out for the best interests of society as a whole. The mixed economy is the best, with government being the referee.
