Obituary of Sorts: Maybe Miracles DO Exist After All

A political obituary:  Ratfucker extraordinaire Bernie Sanders shocked the world, or at least me, when he announced today  he was DROPPING OUT of the Democratic race for the presidency.  This means Joe Biden by default is the nominee, just as he was always going to be from the time Biden announced.

Because of the financial debts and such, Sanders said he was "suspending" his campaign, which is the same thing as ending it.

Sanders made the announcement in a call with his campaign staff, his campaign said.

Sanders' exit caps a stunning reversal of fortune following a strong performance in the first three states that voted in February. The nomination appeared his for the taking until, on the last day of February, Biden surged to a blowout victory in South Carolina that set off a consolidation of moderate voters around the former vice president. The contest ends now as the country continues to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic, which halted in-person campaigning for both Sanders and Biden and has led many states to delay their primary elections.

Sanders' departure from the race is a sharp blow to progressives, who rose up during and after the 2016 campaign and commanded the Democratic Party's Trump era debates over issues like health care, climate change and the effects of growing economic inequality.

But even as his policies grew more popular over the years and into the primary season, the Vermont senator struggled to broaden his own support and galvanize a winning coalition. Now, as he did after leaving the 2016 primary, Sanders will seek to influence the presumptive nominee through the means he knows best -- from the outside.

I hope this is the end of his political career and he retires from the Senate. He is pushing 80 years old as it is, plus he has heart issues.

After getting soundly beaten last night in the Arizona, Florida, and Illinois primaries, Bernie Sanders is finally going to "reassess" his campaign.  The coronavirus issue probably plays a factor in his decision to seemingly shed his monstrous ego for the greater good.  Then again because his opponent is a man, Joe Biden, Sanders is more comfortable with the idea of dropping out, perhaps eventually retiring from the Senate after he proposes more post office naming legislation, and spending time with wife Jane at their lakefront cabin.

NPR:

Sanders' campaign manager, Faiz Shakir, suggested any decision to suspend the campaign — or to stay in — wouldn't be rushed. "The next primary contest is at least three weeks away," Shakir said in a Wednesday morning statement. "Sen. Sanders is going to be having conversations with supporters to assess his campaign. In the immediate term, however, he is focused on the government response to the coronavirus outbreak and ensuring that we take care of working people and the most vulnerable."

When Sanders spoke via livestream before the polls closed Tuesday, he didn't even mention the presidential campaign. Instead, he spoke for 20 minutes about what the federal government can do to mitigate the public health and economic fallout of the ongoing crisis, including a call for a $2,000 monthly stimulus to every American,

We can only hope he gets a clue and does the right thing.

Post-Michigan Primary Thoughts

After another night of having the kick shit out of him, Bernie Sanders gives NO signs whatsoever he is about to withdraw.  No doubt he has lots of money from shady sources to stay in the race in order to do maximum damage to Democrats.

Anybody else would have seen the handwriting on the wall.  Not Sanders, forever the grifter.

More on this fact:  It has ALWAYS been clear Joe Biden was going to be this year's Democratic nominee for president.  This was NEVER in doubt at all despite all the nonsense about Biden's campaign being on life support before the South Carolina primary.  After all, he was Obama's vice president for EIGHT years, and as a rule and as I wrote in my post about Elizabeth Warren last week, VPs are almost never passed over for to be presidential nominees in either party, HHH excepted in 1972 and 1976.  As a sitting VP, HHH WAS the 1968 Democratic Party nominee.

Sanders knows this as well just as he did with Hillary Clinton being the nominee in 2016.  He is simply a born ratfucker with a monstrous ego, bought and paid for by the Russians and the GOP as a straw man opponent for Donald Trump.

Sanders is a shit, always will be a shit, and he is best to be ignored.

The Day After Super Tuesday

While I was asleep, it appeared Biden won Texas while Maine still remained a tossup. 

Sanders supposedly won California, but his margin wasn't as expected, and there are still millions of ballots outstanding before the final apportionment of delegates can be determined.

In other words, Sanders got the shit kicked out of him after all the media hype he was going to run the table last night.  Warren also got trounced, most embarrassingly in her own state, a state where winner Biden spent just $11,000 in.  She came in third there.

Was it because she was a woman?  Was it because voters there were pissed off she ran for president in the first place? Did voters want her to remain in the Senate rather than go on a fool's quest?    Or was her pandering to transactivists at the expense of women's rights a factor, as she was the ONLY candidate who went out of her way to pander to them?  Pete Buttigieg did not do this, but Warren would pander to these people almost on a daily basis to the point it was embarrassing when she read off the names of the very, very, very few "trans women" (i.e., male crossdressers) who were murdered as opposed to the names of the 1,600 WOMEN who are murdered each year because of domestic violence.  It was very alienating to women like me and one of the reasons I rejected her candidacy early on.

I think the biggest reason Sanders got the shit kicked out of him last night lies in the simple fact there were and are very few caucuses this time around.  Sanders and his goons got to pack the caucuses last time, and packing those caucuses plus winning the California primary in 2016 made him competitive with the eventual winner, Hillary Clinton.  One of the reforms Clinton proposed after the 2016 elections was eliminating the caucus system.  The caucus system is too flawed, though fun to participate in, with peer pressure more than candidate support being the important factor in the selection of said candidate.

Sanders will remain in the contest to try and further ratfuck the Democratic Party and sow division in its ranks.  His ego is too monstrous to be reined in.  Warren and Bloomberg should seriously consider getting  out.

Biden was always going to be the nominee the minute he announced his candidacy.  The field never should have been as big as it was in the primary season.

He Was Basically a Deadbeat

There is no way around Bernie Sanders' distant past.  The ONLY real jobs he ever held were those as mayor, then representative, and finally senator.  Before that, he was an outright bum.  One would argue, given his almost total lack of accomplishment in thirty years in Congress,  that he still IS a bum.  Sanders embodies every single stereotype of a 1960s New Leftist and hippie.  ALL of them, plus a few more he came up with.

He is going to get nailed hard on this.  This article from about five years ago talks about the murky past where he never held a real job until he was close to forty years old  and was basically a deadbeat dad to his son.  The son's mother had to live on welfare and had trouble renting an apartment.  That story is not in the article but mentioned elsewhere.

He shared custody of his son in an informal arrangement with Mott, according to people who knew them. “She was around a lot,” Nancy Barnett, a friend who lived nearby, told me. Barnett called Mott “a pretty quiet, private person.” Sanders rented a small brick duplex at 295 1/2 Maple Street that was filled with not much furniture and not much food in the fridge but stacks of checked-out library books and scribbled-on legal pads. His son, who called his father “Bernard,” had an upstairs bedroom.

“Pretty sparse,” Gene Bergman, an old friend, said about the apartment.

“Stark and dark,” said Darcy Troville, a fellow Liberty Unionite who lived around the corner and shared with Sanders homemade jellies and jams.

“The electricity was turned off a lot,” Barnett said. “I remember him running an extension cord down to the basement. He couldn’t pay his bills.”

Sanders wasn't born in a log cabin, so he can't compare himself to Abe Lincoln.

Monty Hall Politics

At least with the late Monty Hall, Let's Make a Deal was just a game.  Unfortunately, for the millions of politically unsophisticated Bernie Sanders supporters, they think Sanders can actually make good on his empty promises.  This time he is trying to court the women's vote by promising "free, universal childcare," a totally impossible proposal. He is trying to shore up his pro-woman credentials by taking attention away from his infamous early seventies writings about women having rape fantasies.

Along those same lines, many observers have called Sanders' interview with Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes a disaster because he makes a lot of promises he simply can't make good on.

Sanders has rarely if ever had a real job outside of government, and his record proves he has a total lack of accomplishment.  This guy has been in D.C. for thirty years, and the most notable he has done is proposing bills to name a couple of post office buildings.  Why the HELL is this man running?  Does he have NPD like Trump is said to have?

What a Dumb Question

OF COURSE it will hurt Sanders' chances.  THAT is why Putin, Trump, and the GOP want Sanders so much.  It is like asking if gravity exists.

In October 1985, a few months after Bernie Sanders traveled to Nicaragua to celebrate the sixth anniversary of that country's socialist revolution, the Soviet-backed government suspended the civil liberties of its citizens, including the rights to free speech, free assembly and labor strikes.

A few days later, Sanders, then the socialist mayor of Burlington, Vermont, received a pointed letter from a constituent. How, the letter-writer wanted to know, could Sanders continue to embrace a "another in a long line of dictatorships, whose only true concern is its length of stay in power"?

In a written reply, Sanders — who had praised Nicaragua's leaders upon his return from the trip — made no apologies. The Nicaraguan government was fighting a "brutal war" funded by the United States, he wrote, which made the situation "complex." Didn't the U.S. government, Sanders wrote, intern Japanese Americans during World War II? Didn't Lincoln curtail basic rights during the Civil War?

This is one skeleton of a cemetery full of skeletons in Bernie's past, and the number of those skeletons threatens to dwarf Arlington National Cemetery.

I read someplace the GOP had TWO FEET of opposition research on Sanders, no doubt much of it gleaned from the Hillary Clinton campaign. The Clinton campaign had the ammo, but they chose not to use it when they realized Sanders wasn't a real threat to her chances in the primaries.

I believe it was the Univision Democratic debate back in 2015 that completely and totally soured me on Sanders (the Vatican debacle cemented it), when the clip of his bragging about how great Cuba was under Castro came to light.  There are of course a LOT more damning videos and documents of Sanders.  In any case, I had to ask just WHY he decided to run such a longshot campaign given he could never, ever get elected president?  Is it just ego?  Is it because he despises the Democratic Party so much?  Or is it something else, something more sinister?

We don't need Roger Stone when there is a ratfucker right in the middle of the Democratic presidential primary.

Bernie Sanders is merely a means to an end for the Russians.

Not Looking Good for 2020

With people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez running around like a loose cannon, Trump isn't going to have to worry about re-election.  With Biden being trashed by his own party over essentially nothing, the Democrats' chances of retaking the White House in 2020 have plummeted.  It may be the GOP really wants Bernie Sanders to be the nominee despite not being a Democrat at all, for he would lose every single state and maybe even D.C.  I believe the one woman blathering about Joe Biden, Lucy Flores, is actually in the tank for Bernie Sanders, which means she is really in the tank for Donald Trump.

The Democrats' stupidity in trying to push through the nonexistent "gender identity" in the Equality Act proposal in order to help transvestites and outright predators is also sealing their fate in Congress.  They have gone overboard in alienating one of their key constituencies, women, not to mention a huge portion of the LGBs, many of whom are highly critical of the so-called "transgender" movement.  All because they don't know what in the hell they are really pushing plus they are receiving piles of money from crossdressing billionaires and big pharma.  Not good at all.

But back to "AOC."  This woman's need to be in the news seemingly every single day points to me she has some kind of personality disorder. I am thinking NPD.  The woman is a brazen idiot, certainly way too young to be in national office,  yet the senior members of the party have not had a talk with her about propriety and decorum.  She just shoots her fucking mouth off advocating for truly stupid ideas like a "green new deal" that will never pass in Congress and other things that sound like they were written by Sanders' speechwriter.  She is a fucking embarrassment.  She should go back to bartending.

So with things like this going on, I have real doubts the Dems will even be able to retain the House unless they get fucking serious and realistic.  It seems since 2016, the party has actually gone downhill. What a shame because Trump and the GOP are such easy targets.  The problem is the new breed of Dems, these millennial morons, are even an easier target.  They all cancel each other out.

Meanwhile, I am trying to focus on my own life, planning for trips, enjoying my hobbies, and enjoying my various jobs in my career of education.
