Campaign Follies.

The Obama campaign is going to go after GOP strongholds by attempting to use the same thug tactics it used in the primaries.

Okay, so I exaggerate just slightly. However, thug tactics and stuffing ballots boxes or rigging computer screens are about the only ways Obama can "win" this fall.

What would a campaign be without Floyd Brown's dirty tricks?
_____

Supposedly Iraq is a more important issue than our shitty economy.
_____

More Whines

from the WSWS that there's not only not a dime's worth a difference between Clinton and Obama, but there's not difference between the Democratic and Republican parties.

It's just another load of horseshit.

Since the Democratic Politicians

aren't as cohesive a bloc of voters as are Republicans, they are more likely to fritter away a golden opportunity such as the Iraq War.

This

article should come as absolutely no surprise to those of us who called the WMD justification bullshit.

We Now Know

Rumsfeld got sacked the day before the 2006 elections, not after them, because he dared to call for de-escalation of the Iraq War.

Presidential Notes.

Speaking of Hillary Clinton, she is slowly repositioning herself on the Iraq war.
_____

John McCain blames pork barrel spending for the decline of our infrastructure.
_____

Judy tries to defend herself from critics.
_____

While it appeared Edwards dominated today's forum, this report predictably focuses on the two who can't win a general election.
_____

Another Reason

for decaying infrastructure is this country is wasting billions, even trillions, on the unwinnable war in Iraq.

Jonathan Chait

shows that the right has to find "ideological" reasons to split with our dictator over Iraq rather than the fact that it has been a failure because of reports that it is a mess.
It Sounds Like

Bush or rather Cheney is hellbent on continuing the Iraq mess to eternity.

Our Dictator

uses all kinds of rhetoric to justify the continued mess in Iraq, but his talk doesn't match the truth, as usual.

The Democrats

have come under (justifiable) attack regarding the continued funding for the Iraq war despite the fact the public is overwhelmingly in favor of bringing the troops home and getting out of there.

I suspect the congressional Democrats are looking to 2008, and they think that not voting for the funding would be viewed as not "supporting the troops." My feeling is they would support the troops if we'd just get the hell out of there.

But a lot of people are mad, and Democrats are going to have to do a lot of explaining.

The WSWS

predictably trashes Democrats for "caving" to our dictator regarding Iraq.

Our Dictator

just vetoed the bill calling for troop withdrawal from Iraq.

Now he's giving a speech justifying his dictatorial decision.

Well, Our Dictator Isn't

entirely wrong that Iraq is the "World War II" of our time.

It's just that the U.S., meaning the Bush administration, has more in common with the Axis countries than with the Allies.
