Crackpottery for Tuesday, but Remembering the Incomparable Secretariat

Peter Singer never should have been allowed in the United States to teach at Princeton, let alone be traveling everywhere peddling his "animal liberation" and euthanasia (for humans) bullshit.

Another crackpot throws his hat into the ring running for president although he is going the third-party route.

West goes out of his way to piss people off.  It is to be hoped people simply ignore him.

Ditto for fellow crank RFJ, Jr.

By the way, West has been married five times and divorced four.  Like the crackpot Peter Singer, West taught at Princeton.  He also has an MA and Ph.D. from there.

Later this week will mark the fiftieth anniversary of Secretariat winning the 1973 Triple Crown in his otherworldly performance in the Belmont.  This article in the Blood Horse marks it and CBS announcer Chic Anderson's legendary call of the race.  It might have been the best sports call in history.

It makes sense.  The greatest horse of all time winning the greatest horse race of all time and the greatest performance in sports history with the best call in sports history--a perfect combination.

Sadly, nobody remembers track announcer Dave Johnson's call of the race.  If you were at the Belmont track on June 9, 1973, you heard Johnson, not Anderson.

Dave tried, though, despite not being a Chic Anderson.  He is 82 now.  Anderson was only 47 when he died from a heart attack in 1979.

Snip from the Johnson article:

"At the time in 1973 as a track announcer, you were paid to say what you see," Johnson said. "I had to shut my microphone off with about 70 yards left and I could not call the finish. We were told to keep going through the whole field and the only time you could call the finish was when it was on television or radio."

Due to those restrictions, Johnson's call was much more straightforward than Anderson's. For instance, while Pvt. Smiles, who was never a factor and disappeared from Anderson's call after the first six furlongs, Johnson's duty to his on-track listeners required him to still mention the well-beaten 14-1 longshot in the stretch .

Yet even with those shackles, Johnson still managed to capture the magnitude of what was happening as he spoke louder and quicker and with more emotion during the final stages.

Johnson was a good track announcer, but at that race he was 31 lengths behind Anderson.

Johnson's call can be found here.

Peter Singer Is Evil Incarnate

He never should have been allowed in the United States to begin with, much less wind up at Princeton University.

Singer is one of the two most evil people who have influenced policy of the past 40 years. The other one is Milton Friedman.

This is the author of the insane book, Animal Liberation, which was the founding document of the extremist or even terrorist animal "rights" movement. PETA and HSUS worship at the altar of this degenerate.

The ARs try to hide their true agenda behind the animal "welfare" cloak and often subvert the real animal welfare organizations in order to pursue a half-baked, pseudo-religious philosophy that is untenable.

After all, animals have no rights because they don't NEED them. The concept of "rights," which Singer rejects for all beings, is a human construct, designed to protect groups of people from being abused by other groups of people.

That's because people, unlike animals, can be assholes.

Like Peter Singer himself. Like PETA and HSUS.

Anyway, disability activists are once again pointing out what an evil son of a bitch this "professor" is:

Disability rights activists from Pennsylvania Not Dead Yet and New Jersey centers for independent living, as well as groups representing parents of people with disabilities, will be marching to Princeton University and holding a protest on June 10, 2015. Activists want Princeton to publicly denounce recent statements by Professor Peter Singer, promoting ending the lives of disabled infants through denial of health care, and for Princeton to take other steps to address what the activists describe as Singer’s “hate speech” toward disabled people.

“Since about 1980, Singer has promoted public policy that would legalize the killing of disabled infants in the first month of life,” said Stephen Drake, Not Dead Yet’s research analyst and expert on Singer. “More recently, he has expanded his position in the context of health care rationing.”

He's an evil bastard whose ideas never should have taken hold in this country.

He should be deported.

This Piece of Evil, Human Filth Never Should Have Been Allowed in This Country

The bastard doesn't even believe in rights to begin with, and he is a eugenicist right there with the best of them.

Or the worst of them.

Singer is one of the two most evil people who have polluted public discourse in the past 40 years.

The other one is Milton Friedman.

Miscellaneous News

The world is full of outrageous cases.

This one reminds me a bit of the horrific Janet Chandler gang rape and murder case in 1979. It wasn't solved for close to thirty years because none of the numerous witnesses and participants would come forward.

More about the Chandler case is here.

Another twisted "ethicist" tries to put forward his anti-meat bullshit by proposing meat eaters pay taxes on it.

What a fucking idiot Peter Singer is.

The Despicable Peter Singer

strikes again, getting piles of ink in the New York Times about the need to "ration" health care, which in his world means to kill off anybody he deems not truly people.

Why this bastard was ever allowed into the United States, much less allowed a forum, is beyond me.

His attitude towards people with significant disabilites is nothing short of advocating bigotry and killing of the disabled.

A critical look at this article is here.

The Vile Peter Singer

thought he'd get a free pass when he discovered the disability rights organization Not Dead Yet had moved from Chicago, but when he spoke in the Windy City earlier this month, he was proven wrong.

More details are here.

Singer never should have been allowed any teaching post in this or any other country. He is truly vile.

Miscellaneous

These guys start off being the biggest idiots of the new year:

City police said a Frankfort man picked the wrong time to cut in line at the north Walmart store on Sunday, setting the stage for events that landed both him and his father in the Delaware County jail.

Edward R. Pluhar Jr., 26, was preliminarily charged with battery on police officer Chris Kirby, while his father, 61-year-old Edward R. Pluhar Sr., was preliminarily charged with criminal recklessness with a vehicle and intimidation.

According to police reports, officer Kirby was off duty as he waited in Walmart's customer service line with his wife and daughter Sunday afternoon, and watched the younger Pluhar walk past him and directly to the service desk.

The police officer told Pluhar Jr. he needed to wait his turn, but the Frankfort man purportedly refused.

The elder Pluhar then allegedly approached the off-duty officer, told him to mind his own business and asked whether Kirby wanted to take the dispute outside.

Miscellaneous

I thought this long, but very good, post about developmental disabilities was worth putting up a link.

Peter Singer and his ilk are a blight on the intellectual landscape.

The Horrific

Peter Singer is going to talk at Arizona State University about making "correct" food choices, but he couldn't care less about the disabled, sick, or elderly if they constitute a "burden" in his mind:

But this is different, Bérubé wrote.

"In the first, my beliefs about the Middle East have literally nothing to do with blogging. In the second, well, I'm afraid that Singer's position on the ethics of eating animals is intimately related to his position on how to treat people with significant disabilities," he wrote.

In The Ethics of What We Eat, Singer argues that we can't place human rights above the rights of animals. He calls that idea "species-ist," saying that it's a form of prejudice.

Yet, in his earlier writings, as Bérubé notes, Singer seeks to limit which people have rights. If you're born disabled, you don't count.

But chickens do?

You have to spend only a few minutes with a child with Down syndrome to see just how silly that idea is. These are children who tell jokes and laugh at others, who feel love and share it, who "get" a lot more than Singer gives them credit for. When they get to be teenagers, they may well hold a job — and work hard at it. They might fall in love — and be just as awkward about it as any 15-year-old.

Singer argues for the humane treatment of fish, citing an obscure article published in a scientific journal called the Proceedings of the Royal Society, which suggested that rainbow trout can, in fact, feel pain. I'll cede him the point, but you can do all the mental gymnastics in the world and still not convince me that a trout is more sentient than a baby with Down syndrome.

Indeed, Singer's conclusions about disabled people should make us question every argument he makes.

It's a question of judgment. If a person can manage to justify the idea of parents killing children, and children killing parents, is he really the person we should come for answers about food?

The man is certifiable and has more influence than he deserves.

Miscellaneous.

Not Dead Yet doesn't think much of Peter Singer's latest nonsense about professional judgment being more important than individual rights.

It's par for the course for this no-good.

Utilitarian Extraordinaire

Peter Singer is at it again, this time he wants to knock off old people:

The interests of patients should come first, but when it is dubious that continued treatment is in a patient’s interest and there is no way to find out what the patients wants, or would have wanted, it is reasonable to consider other factors, including the views of the family and the cost to the community. Medicare costs for beneficiaries with Alzheimer’s disease were $91 billion in 2005, and are expected to increase to $160 billion by 2010. (For comparison, in 2005 the United States spent $27 billion on foreign aid.)

It's all about money or the convenience of others according to this shitbag.
