More Laziness

It cost me $50 to buy a new bicycle tire which is thick enough goatheads can't pierce the casing and cause flats. Yesterday I was out cycling around Sparks, and I picked up one of those goatheads. Instead of taking the "thorn" out of the tire and thus causing an immediate flat tire, I continued to ride around until I got home and then replaced the old tire and inner tube. I try to cycle for at least two hours at a time, and preferably longer.

I have been riding a lot on the Truckee River Bike Path or Trail, and then going to other places from there, simply because I don't have to mess with the traffic that much on the weekdays, yet I can still get a good workout. In years past, I would take the McCarran loop most of the way around, but because of construction and because of boredom, I have gotten tired to doing that, so I am going different routes and different places.

As I was returning home today on the trail, I saw a beautiful, beautiful buck running along the Truckee River. He saw me and looked up. How I wish I had my camera. He was a beauty.

Just as I said I would, I picked up the book, Deconstructing Sammy, which I briefly mentioned yesterday. God, what a mess the Sammy Davis, Jr. estate is in. And there aren't any angels in this saga, either.

I have read the first fifty pages already. It'll probably take no more than one or two days to read.
