Rough and Ready Botanical Trail

On the same hiking program as Eight Mountain is this flat and easy two-mile trail near Cave Junction, Oregon, called Rough and Ready Botanical Trail.  This time of the year is a perfect time to visit, for the wildflowers were out in full bloom.  There are several handcrafted wood benches from a local artist named Joey Wallace.

Dollar Mountain Hike

Earlier today I hiked up Dollar Mountain, which is close to downtown Grants Pass, Oregon.  It is listed as "easy," but moderate is a more accurate term since it is all uphill to the top, plus it is slick in places to go along with the steepness.  However, there are some great views from the trail:

Forest Park Hike

Once again I took a nice hike in the Forest Park trail system just outside of Jacksonville, Oregon.  A few pictures:

Forest Park Trails

I went to Forest Park outside Jacksonville, Oregon, yesterday for the first time.  I had been putting it off for a couple of years.  I drove the dusty gravel road to the site (there are several parking spots along the way) and went on some easy trails.  There is an extensive network of hiking trails there, so I will have to explore more later this spring and most likely during the summer when I am off.

Here are a few pictures:

Denman Wildlife Area

Went hiking down this trail for the first time since last fall. There was a sea of wildflowers throughout. Also took a few pictures of the Rogue River. This trail is located near White City, Oregon.
