Saturday Sedition Reads

The demented mob storming the Capitol on January 6 IS the Republican Party, and this is why the GOP officeholders have been mostly silent about it.

Speaking of which, a zillionaire heiress to the SE U.S. grocery chain Publix forked over 300 grand in support of the "Stop the Steal" march, but the company has distanced itself from her.

MTG, which used to be an abbreviation for "meeting," now is bragging about her phone call to Trump.

Meanwhile, the party does nothing to sanction her, let alone demand she leave Congress.

Speaking of MTG, how the hell did she ever get elected in the first place?

Tuesday Sedition Notes

A GOP aide resigned, but he lashed out at the party for enabling the mob last week.

In a scathing resignation letter obtained by POLITICO, Jason Schmid, a longtime senior House Armed Services Committee staffer, slammed the GOP members of the panel who objected to President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College win, particularly after a mob incited by Trump stormed the Capitol last Wednesday and left five people dead.

“Anyone who watched those horrible hours unfold should have been galvanized to rebuke these insurrectionists in the strongest terms,” Schmid wrote in a letter addressed to the committee’s top Republican. “Instead, some members whom I believed to be leaders in the defense of the nation chose to put political theater ahead of the defense of the Constitution and the republic.”

It sounds like the worthless Mitch McConnell, rightfully pissed off over his life being endangered thanks to Trump, is trying to play both sides against the middle, or muddle, as it were.

Meanwhile, when you are a Trump cultist, it doesn't matter if your reputation is shot to shit:

House dipshit Jim Jordan of Ohio has been caught in (yet another) lie:

Mike Pence says no to the 25th Amendment, and therefore impeachment will commence in Congress:

No surprise that Trump refuses to take any responsibility for the Capitol Hill insurrection of last week.

Speech:

Even though VP Mike Pence would not invoke the 25th amendment--no doubt because of concern over death threats, which have already been made against him for certifying the EC vote--he is for all intents and purposes done with Donald Trump.

The House did approve the resolution for Pence to invoke he 25th amendment despite the fact Pence won't invoke it.

Monday Sedition Notes

No matter how much law enforcement is cracking down on these right-wing terrorists, the Proud Boys continue to incite violence following the attack on the U.S. Capitol.

The U.S. House has moved to impeach Trump for a second time.  However, thanks to massive loopholes in federal law, if he isn't removed before the end of his term, Trump will still get all the perks available to former presidents including a pension and even the right to run for president again.

What a fucked-up situation.  And McConnell has no intention of calling the Senate before January 19, next Tuesday.

And I saw this morning Donald Trump was posting messages on a site called Clouthub, one of many sites he and the seditionists have been flocking to since being banned from mainstream social media.

One of Many Traitors

who not only need to be expelled from Congress but criminal charges need to be brought as well:

How the fuck does somebody like this get elected? And don't tell me she put in the following tweets to let her fammily know she was okay. No, this was all about telling the fascist thugs were Nancy Pelosi was.

Quite a few members of Congress need to be tossed out as the treasonous, criminal bunch they are.

This tweet has a picture of some major offenders:

Saturday Sedition Roundup

Ashli Babbitt was nobody to admire.  She was a QAnon whack job before turning terrorist.

If cops tell you to stop, you stop.  Otherwise, prepare to pay the price.

I hope Donald Trump was worth dying for, since he never gave a shit about his supporters.

_____

More and more arrests have been made in the Cuckoo Coup Klutz Clan insurrection:

Meanwhile, rumor has it Trump is no longer a president except in name only, which is basically a 25th amendment situation but not officially one.

The reason Mike Pompeo had his Twitter account banned is because the madman in the White House was using his account.

If Parler isn't actually a sting operation--it's financed by the crackpot Mercer billionaire family--it makes it easy for law enforcement to track users down.  I don't know about Gab.

_____

I would say no, he is still a threat even after Wednesday's terrorist events:

Presumably "Ali" refers to Ali Alexander, a sidekick of the infamous Roger Stone and organizer for the fascistic group Stop the Steal, who admits he was in cahoots with three congressmen by planning the insurrection on last Wednesday.  This is sedition, treason.  Those three congressmen, Mo Brooks (AL) and Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs (AZ) should be expelled from the U.S. House and charged with treason against the United States:

These assholes have a lot of nerve, not to mention Biden has nothing to do with Trump's second impeachment movement.

And back to Trump:  He is reportedly losing his shit now that ALL of his social media contacts have been ended.  Parler is now cut off by various hosting companies like Google Play and Apple and, most recently today, by Amazon.  Many have speculated the FBI knows something horrible is being planned--probably reading what the Million Militia March has planned for the week of the inauguration.

He insists he is  not going to resign.

And then, there was an interview with this guy who predicted a coup attempt.  However, this guy doesn't have any clairvoyant talent; he just paid attention to social media sites and especially was aware of the Million Militia March, which I had noted on this blog and on my YouTube channel previously.

Sedition Attempt Notes

This image should be remembered as a symbol of what those "patriots" were truly all about:

And yes, that and other pictures are for real.

Yesterday, Donald Trump gave a half-hearted speech that was no doubt given under duress, the way a kidnap victim would give a statement.  He doesn't regret what he instigated at all.  Most likely he isn't in fact president anymore but rather Mike Pence is in all but name:

He didn't "concede" and refused to acknowledge Joe Biden at all.  The title of the video is misleading:

He's like the little kid caught stealing cookies from a cookie jar.  He's sorry he got caught, but he isn't sorry he stole.

I hope criminal charges are leveled at him and every single person involved in the storming of the Capitol building.  Florence ADX and Terre Haute death row may have to have major expansions to accommodate all the terrorists involved.

Articles of impeachment have been introduced.  Given the fact the Senate members as well as the House members were under threat, it should be an absolute slam dunk to remove Trump before January 20.  Only one article is sufficient: that of inciting riots, terrorism, treason against the United States to the point where the Capitol itself was under threat.  I can't even imagine anybody voting against it unless they want to lose in 2022.

It's a much different circumstance than the last time Trump was impeached.

Twitter finally did what it should have done months ago, and that is permanently ban Donald Trump
from its platform.  As an aside,  YouTube needs to do a major housecleaning of those channels that still promote lies about the election and supporting the terrorists who stormed the Capitol building.

From the link:

"After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," Twitter said.
"In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action."

However, Trump is supposedly now on Parler:

Yes, the account is for real.

Thanks to his wife's antics, Clarence Thomas should resign from the USSC:

Trump wasn't the only one banned from Twitter:

Terrorist Ashli Babbitt got exactly what she deserved.  Whack job who was once an Obama supporter was willing to murder elected officials.

Fuck that shit.

In case you didn't see this video before:

That YouTuber had no business even being there, yet there he was filming it.  Nice way to help the FBI, doofus, and go to prison in the process.

And yes, those terrorists involved in the Beer Belly Putsch (courtesy of Democratic Underground) were intent on kidnapping and murdering public officials.

A couple of them carrying police restraints have been identified.

And late this evening, the Houston Chronicle calls for the resignation of chickenshit senator Ted Cruz, who is already despised by just about everybody on Capitol Hill.  Time for him to go back to his birthplace of Calgary, Alberta.  He will never be president.

For that matter, neither will Josh Hawley.

The consequences of Cruz’s cynical gamble soon became clear and so did his true motivations. In the moments when enraged hordes of Trump supporters began storming the Capitol to stop a steal that never happened, desecrating the building, causing the evacuation of Congress and injuring dozens of police officers, including one who died, a fundraising message went out to Cruz supporters:

“Ted Cruz here,” it read. “I’m leading the fight to reject electors from key states unless there is an emergency audit of the election results. Will you stand with me?”

Cruz claims the message was automated. Even if that’s true, it’s revolting.

This is a man who lied, unflinchingly, on national television, claiming on Hannity’s show days after the election that Philadelphia votes were being counted under a “shroud of darkness” in an attempted Democratic coup. As he spoke, the process was being livestreamed on YouTube.

And then there is the Kansas City Star on Josh Hawley:

If Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley had shown any evidence that there’s a conscience in there somewhere, underneath the ambition and the artifice and the uncommon combo of striving and laziness that he’s somehow made work for him, then we wouldn’t be where we are right now.

We wouldn’t, that is, be wondering what to say to a man who, having so disgraced his office, and our state, must either resign or be removed from the U.S. Senate.

Having led the parade to the edge of a cliff, Hawley pretends to be astonished by what happened next. And unlike those Republicans who sobered up after seeing the U.S. Capitol trashed, he continues to pretend that the election was stolen from President Donald Trump, who claimed widespread voter fraud even when he really did win, in 2016.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch says the same thing:

Meanwhile, Sen. Josh Hawley had the gall to stand before the Senate Wednesday night and feign shock, shock at what happened — hours after he had fist-pumped and cheered the rioters as they arrived on Capitol Hill. Hawley’s tardy, cover-his-ass condemnation of the violence ranks at the top of his substantial list of phony, smarmy and politically expedient declarations.

Americans have had enough of Trumpism and the two-faced, lying, populist politicians who embraced it. Hawley’s presidential aspirations have been flushed down the toilet because of his role in instigating Wednesday’s assault on democracy. He should do Missourians and the rest of the country a big favor and resign now.

There is only one article of impeachment, which is incitement of insurrection.

Insanity in D.C. (continued)

Trump allegedly realizes the end of his term is near as Congress and Pence, at 3:41 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, certify the Electoral College votes.  Come January 20, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be the new president and vice president of the United States.

He says he will agree to a peaceful transition of power, but the maniacs who are true believers in the Trump cult are the big problem now.

Snip:

After Pence defied his boss to settle the 2020 election once and for all, Trump finally said there would be an 'orderly transition' - a hallmark of American democracy he has repeatedly called into question - but still claimed falsely that the election was stolen despite all 50 states, a series of judges and now the U.S. Congress dismissing challenges to the result.

Banned from twitter, the message was sent by Dan Scavino, his golf caddy-turned social media guru.

'Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20,' Trump said in a statement that aides posted on Twitter after the president's account was locked for stirring up violence.

Sedition Attempt in Washington

As everybody knows, there was a rally of Trump deadenders that wound up breaching security blocks in place, and more than a few of them stormed the Capitol building today.  This was, thanks to Trump's incessant lies, nothing but sedition, a coup attempt, by these rebels without a cause.

Today is supposed to be the counting of the Electoral College votes before this horseshit happened.

One of several live feeds:

Robert Reich talks about today's coup attempt:

link

The crowd has thinned out quite a bit now that the 6 p.m. curfew is near.

Joe Biden earlier challenged Trump to condemn the terrorists:

And Trump did give a short speech, but he hardly was forceful about what was happening.  That's because he started it with this seditious attempt on our country.

These people are bound to get worse as it gets closer to Inauguration Day.

There needs to be arrests for sedition against the United States beginning with Donald Trump, then Roger Stone, and so on down the line including those in Congress who know better than to challenge the election results.

Twitter at long last took action.

This guy who was a witness to the shoot of a female rioter lacks total awareness against laws against vandalism, trespassing, and sedition:

The show must go on, however:

The death toll is now at four.

This dipshit is lucky she didn't end up in worse shape.  What doesn't she understand about sedition and insurrection against the United States?

Some of the capitol police were clearly in on the insurrection.  They need their asses out of there and charges leveled against them.

Good thing there is competent staff at the Capitol building, at least on the Senate floor:

The thugs' access was aided and abetted by the so-called Capitol police.  No doubt about it, and heads better roll:

Current stats (no link so far):  52 arrests, 4 dead, 14 police injured so far.

There is yet another angle of what happened today:

The Sedition Follies Roundup

In case you haven't heard it, the complete Trump phone call trying to put the screws on the Georgia Secretary of State:

More criticism of Trump's insane rants can be found here.

VP Mike Pence thought it was okay that seditious Republican senators plan on undermining a fair election.

What the GOP is doing, however, is worse than treason.  The perpetrators need to be locked up for sedition.

Snip:

This is sedition, plain and simple. No amount of playacting and rationalizing can change the fact that the majority of the Republican Party and its apologists are advocating for the overthrow of an American election and the continued rule of a sociopathic autocrat.

This is not some handful of firebrands making a stand for the television cameras. In 2005, one Democrat in the House and one in the Senate filed an objection to counting Ohio’s electoral votes, while insisting that they were not contesting the outcome of the presidential election itself. In 2017, a handful of Democratic members of the House objected to the electoral count. Because they lacked support in the Senate, then–Vice President Biden ruled the representatives out of order and declared, “It is over.” In both cases, the Democratic candidate had already conceded.

None Dare Call It Sedition

In some lame attempt to shore up Trump's base, Senator Ted Cruz (R-Calgary) has put forward a "demand" there be a commission set up with presumably Trump flunkies in order to overturn a legitimate election.

Craven Cruz

Cruz is rumored to be a highly intelligent person, with Ivy League credentials all over the place.  Of course, being a Harvard grad especially denotes superior intellect.  Not everybody is proud of how Ted turned out.  More important than his legendary intellect, such as it is, Cruz is known for his naked ambition.  Once a sworn enemy of Trump's and vice versa, now Cruz is a major butt kisser.  Of course, this is all showboating or grandstanding to appease the Trump cultists, but really the correct course of action is not to subvert the Constitution and set a precedent for future elections but instead just let the Trump cultists go through the process of grief.

Hell, we Democrats put up with a lot from the GOP when Al Gore, John Kerry, and Hillary Clinton had elections stolen from them.  But we didn't pull the shit the current GOP pols are doing.

Even former House speaker Paul Ryan says these idiots need to knock it off.

Of course, all of this makes great copy for the media.   That was what their pushing Donald Trump for president was all about in the first place.  Just ask CNN's Jeff Zucker.

Meanwhile, Trump is acting like a mob boss at the same much of the GOP is acting like a crime syndicate:

More is here.

Keith Olbermann on this latest scandal:

In a sane world, Trump would have been removed a long time ago, but this GOP is little more than a criminal syndicate and allows him to get away with anything.

The call in question highlights from the Washington Post.  It was something like an hour long:

The reaction wasn't too favorable even among members of Trump's own party.

I will believe the end of the GOP when I see it:

I will also believe a resignation when I see it, Carl.

It's the Sedition, Stupid

A handful of senators, including "Calgary Ted" Cruz, are going to grandstand for their insane QAnon and bugaloo faction and will register a "protest" against a duly elected president-elect of the U.S. from being certified.

Criminal charges should be brought because this horseshit will NOT stop.  These people will continue to do this crap election after election until a Republican gets elected, and we know the GOP can no longer win a national election, at least with the popular vote.   The radical right believes the Democratic Party is by definition illegitimate and they would not be past executing members of said party.

We know the far right tried this bullshit with Bill Clinton in the 1990s.  It can be seen as the warmup of what is happening now.  The ONLY reason there was all the shit leveled at Bill and Hillary was because Bill Clinton and VP Al Gore were threats to the GOP's Southern Strategy.  Without that Southern Strategy, the GOP would risk becoming extinct.

This is the same thing that is happening now.  It is pure desperation on the part of these clowns in D.C.  They ALL know there was no "fraud," but they are playing to their base, the vast majority of whom have already moved on and accepted Biden as the 46th president.

I agree here:

Democrats need to take this bullshit seriously.  At least Republican Mitt Romney does.

As for Trump, he doesn't appear to give a shit.

Moreover, Rep. Louie Gohmert needs to understand he is basically calling for sedition against the United States, and advocating for it is a crime.

Updated at 5:15 p.m. with Gohmert denying he has advocated violence.

East Texas congressman Louie Gohmert suggested that “violence in the streets” may be the only remaining option to block Joe Biden from becoming president, after a federal judge rejected his lawsuit aiming to force Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the election.

U.S. District Judge Jeremy Kernodle, a Trump appointee from Gohmert’s hometown of Tyler, threw out the lawsuit late Friday, ruling that he and other plaintiffs — including the GOP chairwoman in Arizona and that state’s defeated slate of Republican electors — lack standing.

Somebody must have told Gohmert about sedition because, as the article update notes, he is backtracking by denying he is advocating violence.
