You can see the bird catching a fish here. When I get these hawk pictures processed, I will crop them so they better show the bird.
This hawk was flying overhead looking for food. Naturally it wouldn't sit still for me.
Another closeup.
Closeup of the flowers.
I like these flowers.
Here is Peavine from where I actually was.
Closeup of Peavine Peak. If I ever get the ambition or the strength, I will try to hike the trail up to the top. From there one can see the entire Truckee Meadows.
This time of the year is great for getting wildflower pictures.
I finally reach the old mining area with the tailing piles.
More wildflowers.
Another view of the pond.
The settling pond about halfway up the trail.
Another view from high up the trail. Lemmon Valley can be seen in the background.
A bumblebee is in this thistle flower.
The thisle flowers are just coming out.
More of those flowers I like.
Here is part of the trail.
This is an interesting closeup.
I just returned from going up the Poeville Trail which is near Lemmon Valley north of Reno on Highway 395. I was gone for close to three hours, and there were still quite a few wildflowers out. For me bringing a camera is a must on hikes. You never know what you will find. There were a bunch of these types of flowers out.
