Republican Convention VI

Governor Palin came on at 9:30 Central Time.

She was nervous at first, then became more relaxed. She never flubbed up. Palin should get some halfway decent press out of this speech.

The memoirs crack and the one about the styrofoam columns were good.

My opinion: Palin exceeded expectations. She made no mistakes. She came across as likable. Most interesting was she never touched on wedge issues or came across as an extremist. She hit on her career as a reformer.

The idea she made a major "gaffe" by going after the press is simply laughable. Shit, the GOP and the media are working in concert. The way the media has gone overboard in trashing her makes everybody sympathize with her and McCain. That's the point. The reason the media are doing it because they are in the tank for the GOP. They don't want Obama; Obama was the ringer. He isn't supposed to win the election, and he won't.

This campaign has been total media manipulation from start to finish. Call it reverse psychology in this instance with Palin. They pretend they are being "fair" by attacking her and letting Obama off the hook, but in fact they WANT people to be outraged enough to vote for McCain/Palin.

Here is the transcript.

But I prefer the video:
