The usual suspects (the GOP and so-called "blue dog" Democrats) are bitching up a storm because Obama dares to raise taxes on the people who are wrecking this country.
A free country cannot survive with a tiny elite having the lion's share of the wealth. The thirty years of ruinous economic policies have to be reversed. This country cannot afford to have all of the wealth concentrated into fewer and fewer hands. The wealth must be distributed downward to those who have created the wealth, the workers and consumers.
It was fine in the 1950s with a 91 percent maximum tax rate. The rich had their money to enjoy, and there was a thriving middle class where only one adult was needed to provide a living wage.
We need to return to those tax rates.
