Both she and her boyfriend should be released, but this despicable, lawless prosecutor is hellbent on getting her convicted. Public opinion in Italy always wants her convicted and imprisoned.
Unbelievable.

More here. I wish there could be something done about this. It's just outrageous. I am convinced she and her friend had nothing to do with Meredith Kercher's murder.
Here is another story about the persecutor--er, prosecutor:
The Italian prosecutor managing the murder trial of Seattle native Amanda Knox has added another target to his list -- Knox's neighborhood newspaper, the West Seattle Herald.
According to a BBC report filed Thursday, prosecutor Giuliano Mignini told reporters that he would take legal action against the paper for a Jan. 30 story that contained a claim by Knox's supporters that Mignini is "mentally unstable."

I can't understand the fascination with this trial except for the fact that she is an American student and that alone has caught the buzz of students around the globe. I think there are holes in here timeline and I think there are some serious issues raised about the prosecutor's conduct. But why is this different from any other muder trial?
This story consistently draws the highest ratings on my blog - go figure!
It should be a routine murder trial, but I think because it has been so sensationalized by the European media, people have a fascination with it.
It might also appeal to some anti-American sentiment over there; according to the 48 Hours piece, it appears that the overwhelming majority of people in Italy think she's guilty. I can't see it, frankly.
Note the comments on the 48 Hours site condemning the report. The commenters believe Knox and her boyfriend did it, although the story of some satanic ritual sounds preposterous on its face.
