In the End, It Isn't About the Teachers

Trashing teachers is a way to soften up the public for the looting of the public purse, yet another way to transfer wealth upward.

Neoliberalism is the most evil concept that has ever come down the pike, and both political parties subscribe to it. These people want to abandon the public sector so the billionaires and Wall Street crooks can loot the money. It has nothing to do with the supposed "failures" of public ed. It's all about the money for them. It's another form of wealth transfer. Charter schools are garbage because they are just a way for the elites to steal from the masses, private schools are garbage because they can pick and choose who they want to attend and not a viable option, home schooling is garbage because being a parent is not the same thing as being a teacher. There is no real alternative to a vibrant public school system, one of the pillars of a democracy.

Trashing teachers is of course sexist at its core. These asshole reformers think that because women dominate the field, they will lie back and take it, just like the filth that women should relax and enjoy being raped.
