When you are in effect a Marxist posing as a "democratic socialist," of course you are going to see everything in terms of "economic class."  And, contrary to the article, it isn't about "education," either.

Economic class is often a result of racism and sexism, which are not "identity politics" but oppression based on material reality.  Sanders blathered on about economics because it helped resonate with the aggrieved white males who think they are "oppressed" because they no longer make the inflated pay they once did under the "family wage" system.
