The family's lawyer Christoph Herbst said that he had been 'bombarded' with financial offers from various international media for photographs and interviews with his clients, but rejected the possibility of any kind of public appearance within the next few months.

A paparazzo photographer assaulted a private security guard at the clinic where Josef Fritzl's family is being treated:

The assault was the latest in a series of violent incidents involving reporters and photographers clashing with hospital personnel and guards in a bid to penetrate the security around the hospital and get a picture of the Fritzl family.

Seventeen photographers have been caught trying to get into the Amstetten hospital.

Josef Fritzl could have been charged with the murder of his daughter Kerstin because he delayed medical care. She is still in the hospital as a result of suffering from multiple organ failure.

The hospital where Elisabeth and the children are staying has put a ban in place against medical staff carrying mobile phones and cameras after one of the staff was caught trying to sell pictures for 300K euros.

The management has circulated a letter reminding staff they risk being sacked and sued if they are caught violating the patients' privacy.

Police in the meantime are investigating if there is any connection between Josef Fritzl and some unsolved murders.

The biggest problem with this case is there is a flood of new information, some of it contradictory.

I saw this report which makes mention of the vitamin D and sunlight issue regarding the captives:

Dr Kippliner denied earlier reports that the children were having difficulties walking and speaking, or that they suffered from Vitamin D deficiency.

“Vitamin D supplements and a UV lamp were supplied by their father, after their mother requested it,” he said. He added that Elisabeth, Stefan and Felix, were still oversensitive to light but that their pale skin colour was improving.
