When you think having pets is a form of slavery, as PETA does, it makes perfect sense for them to kill homeless pets.

I hate the fucking bastards. Always have, always will. They want to abolish all domestication of animals. One of the more clever ways they and other animal rights nutters spread their message is with mandatory spay and neuter laws.

Of course, in ten or fifteen years there are no pets. That's the fucking point of the laws.

I wish people who were more for animal welfare would wake the fuck up:

Documents published online this month show that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, an organization known for its uncompromising animal-rights positions, killed more than 95 percent of the pets in its care in 2011.

The documents, obtained from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, were published online by the Center for Consumer Freedom, a non-profit organization that runs online campaigns targeting groups that antagonize food producers.

Fifteen years’ worth of similar records show that since 1998 PETA has killed more than 27,000 animals at its headquarters in Norfolk, VA.

PETA is suggesting the use of an animatronic model.

A founder of the Sierra Safari Zoo in Reno today disputed claims made by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals group that the zoo is unable to care for its animals.


In a letter addressed to zoo founder Dale McDaniel and sent Monday, Lisa Wathne, a captive exotic animal specialist with PETA, suggests zoo officials stop breeding and acquiring animals she says the zoo cannot provide for.

I suggest PETA members stop breeding and recruiting members.

Another PETA nutjob gets in trouble for neglecting animals, this time it is snakes, according to a lawyer:

Attorneys for an exotic animal dealer have accused an employee of intentionally neglecting animals to further his work as an undercover investigator for an animal rights group.

Howard Goldman could have done more to provide food, water and care for the animals that he said were being mistreated, said Lance Evans, an attorney for Jasen and Vanessa Shaw, the owners of U.S. Global Exotics.

Instead, Goldman secretly took photos and made daily reports to send to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Evans said.

"He was more concerned about helping PETA achieve its goal of putting U.S. Global out of business than actually aiding any animals that he felt were in distress," Evans said. Goldman worked at the Arlington facility for seven months.

Of course Ingrid Newkook makes apologies for the person who neglected the animals.

Leave It to PETA

Rajt said her group contacted Wichita-area billboard companies Tuesday but was waiting to hear back about availability. She did not know where or when the billboards would be posted.

The Virginia-based group opposes eating animals or using any animal byproducts. It also opposes animal testing, hunting, fishing and factory farming.

PETA has been criticized for the style and content of its campaigns, including a 2003 "Holocaust on Your Plate" exhibition, which juxtaposed images of the Holocaust with images of factory farming.

News of the group's plans in Wichita drew fierce response from many in the community Tuesday. Some who posted comments to a story on Kansas.com called the campaign tasteless and opportunistic; others urged Wichitans to ask billboard companies to reject the PETA billboards.

Dumb shits, every last one of them.

This report says a scientist predicted a major quake would strike the region, but he was allegedly muzzled:

Vans with loudspeakers had driven around the town a month ago telling locals to evacuate their houses after seismologist Gioacchino Giuliani predicted a large quake was on the way, prompting the mayor's anger.

Giuliani, who based his forecast on concentrations of radon gas around seismically active areas, was reported to police for "spreading alarm" and was forced to remove his findings from the Internet.

The death toll is now at least 92.

Farrah Fawcett is not at death's door, according to a friend:

"She's doing fantastic," producer Craig Nevius told the Associated Press. "Her fight goes on. ... She's not going anywhere anytime soon."
Fawcett was hospitalized because of a blood clot that was a side effect of a treatment she recently had in Germany, her rep said.

AP said the cancer has spread to her liver, but she is expected to leave the hospital in a few days:

After the procedure in Germany, Piro said Fawcett flew back to Los Angeles because she was eager to go home. In a statement released earlier, Piro said Fawcett was using a wheelchair because it was painful for her to walk. “That pain, which was coming from the hematoma, had nothing directly to do with the cancer,” Piro said.

“She remains in good spirits with her usual sense of humour,” he added. “She’s been in great shape her whole life and has an incredible resolve and an incredible resilience.”

Nevius said Fawcett is expected to leave the hospital in a few days. He said her support system includes former partner Ryan O’Neal, her father and “Charlie’s Angels” co-stars Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith.

“Let me tell you what she’s not,” Nevius said. “As previously reported by everybody, she’s not unconscious. She is not on death’s door. The family has not gathered to say goodbye.”

Lance Armstrong is on the road back to the Tour de France by competing in the Amgen Tour of California. However, Armstrong had a few harsh words for a reporter who called him a "cancer" on the sport of professional cycling.

There is this transcript of an interview with the critic, Paul Kimmage:

This return, he wants us to believe that it's all about saving the world from cancer. That's complete bullshit. It's about revenge It's about ego. It's about Lance Armstrong. I think he's trying to rewrite his exit from the sport. Thanks to a recent documentary it broadcast, the BBC is not going to cover a major dog show there; naturally PETA is using the BBC's action and the documentary to pressure the USA Network to quit carrying the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show because they really want to abolish animal domestication. They use the ruse of the problems of "inbreeding" and "purebred" animals in their filthy crusade to deprive human beings of the companionship of domesticated animals.

Make NO mistake about it. These shitbags do NOT care one bit about animals.

“PETA’s animal welfare record is appalling. It kills 97 per cent of the dogs that come to its shelters and admits its ultimate aim is to rid the world of what it calls the “domestic enslavement” of dogs as either pets or working dogs.

“In stark contrast, and the reason we made the film, is that we believe pedigree dogs are of tremendous value to society and that something needs to be done to arrest the damage caused by decades of inbreeding and selection for ‘beauty’. The film is a passionate call for urgent reform to save them before it is too late. To do that, there needs to be urgent reform of breeding practices and dog shows.

“PETA is a bunch of crackpots who do not care about anything but publicity and making money. They have not bothered to contact us - and, indeed, if they did we would make it very clear we do not want their support. It devalues and marginalises a film that raises a serious issue that needs to be addressed, and quickly.”

The Peta attacks are seen as a sign of the radicalisation of some vegetarian groups. They claim eating meat causes environmental destruction, damages human health and contributes to global hunger, as well as inflicting suffering on billions of animals.

They are full of shit and hide their true agenda.

has a good piece on Eight Belles, noting it was the only fatality in the 134-year history of the Kentucky Derby, and it was one of the most freakish accidents ever on a track.

And animal rights nuts exploit this knowing most people do not live on farms anymore and know there are risks in racing.

Andrew Beyer, an acclaimed handicapper, blames the breeding industry for churning out horses who are swift but susceptible to injury at an early age. "Because buyers want horses with speed, breeders have filled the thoroughbred species with the genes of fast but unsound horses," Beyer wrote in his Washington Post column. "As this change in the breeding world took place, the sport was allowing the use of pain-killers and other medications that are forbidden in most other countries. They allow infirm horses to achieve success, go to stud and pass on their infirmities to the next generation." Eight Belles' grandsire, Kentucky Derby winner Unbridled, has a record of fathering flash-in-the pan horses who run blazing times as 3-year- olds, then are never seen on the track again.

Horses that delicate may require more forgiving footing. The thoroughbred experts were far ahead of PETA in calling to replace dirt racetracks with softer, synthetic surfaces. In 2006, my home track, Arlington, was the scene of a horrific string of horses dying during or after races. In one case, groundskeepers brought a screen onto the track, and held it in front of an injured horse while a veterinarian administered a fatal shot. The carcass was winched into a van and carted off.

Unbridled, it should be noted, was a son of Fappiano, who was put down at a young age because of getting laminitis from a leg injury in the paddock. Fappiano, in turn, was a son of Mr. Prospector, a top sire who had soundness problems of his own and passed that trait down. Mr. Prospector was sired by Raise a Native who in turn was sired by Native Dancer, and both of these horses had soundness problems.

PETA and other critics don't care about the facts of track surfaces and the like. They want to use the race as a wedge to further their extreme agenda.
