Some Reads for the 28th

Just who are the people who are stupid enough to vote for RFK, Jr. besides being stupid?

He is in there only to help Trump by peeling votes off Biden.

Obituary:  Former Connecticut senator and one-time vice presidential candidate (on the ticket with Al Gore in 2000) Joe Lieberman, 82, died yesterday from complications from a fall.  He was the first Jewish individual to be selected on a major party ticket.

Gore picked him principally to help him with seniors in Florida.  The fact that the Gore-Lieberman ticket DID have more votes in that state meant nothing to the corrupt United States Supreme Court, which halted the vote count to favor George W. Bush in the infamous Bush v. Gore decision.  That decision should have been a wakeup call (if the equally bogus Jones v. Clinton case didn't raise alarm bells earlier) that the high court was corrupt and totally partisan.

It has been downhill for the USSC ever since.

The self-styled left of the Democratic Party hounded Lieberman, I suspect because of a big dose of antisemitism, to the point he became an indepenndent. After he retired, he was involved with a ratfucking operation called No Labels, which hasn't yet take off.

Snip:

Lieberman was born in Stamford, Connecticut, on February 24, 1942. He went to Yale University — where it was clear a political career beckoned as he was nicknamed “Senator.” He later attended Yale Law School and in 1968, he ran the Connecticut presidential campaign of former Attorney General Robert Kennedy, until the candidate was assassinated.

Lieberman was elected to the Connecticut Senate in 1970 and rose to the position of majority leader. After a spell as attorney general of his home state, he became the first Orthodox Jew elected to the US Senate in November 1988.

Lieberman was married twice, including to Hadassah who survives him.

News, Etc.

This is where education is headed, unfortunately, unless people wake the hell up.
_____

The fact is teaching cannot be quantified because the "product," student learning, is highly individual and subject to outside influences over which teachers have utterly NO control.

But this is about getting rid of more "expensive" teachers and what is left of unions in this country.
_____

It's time to look at some of the myths of public education as promoted by the Chicago School crackpots.
_____

Joe Lieberman has made a declaration of independence and will not seek a fifth term, in a decision that is welcome news to many in the blogosphere.

Of course Joe isn't needed to knife Democrats in the back.  There is already a Backstabber-in-Chief in the White House.

The Very Thought Must Give the Nutroots Fits

Gossip abounds Senator Joseph Lieberman, the target of an unsuccessful nutroots campaign a couple of years ago to deny him re-election to the Senate, could eventually rejoin the Democratic Party.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if he did.

More Politics

The predictable whining by the nutroots over Lieberman continues all the while not realizing the Democrats need all the votes they can get to approach if not attain a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.

Actually This Analysis

points out the reason Al Gore COULDN'T do any more than he did in 2000. Not only were the votes not there in the House to put him in as president, but because the Senate was a tie between the two parties, as president of the Senate Gore would have been forced to pick a VP, which would have been a conflict of interest. Furthermore, Senator Joe Lieberman, Gore's running mate in 2000, would have had to step aside from casting a vote because a conflict of interest, too. The result of Cheney being VP would have happened regardless.

This is why I was pissed off at the likes of Michael Moore claiming Gore "wimped out" and "didn't do enough" in 2000. He couldn't legally.

Republican Convention IV

That favorite of the nutroots, Joe Lieberman, spoke to the Republicans this year. He said country matters more than party.

Campaign Foot-in-Mouth

Senator Reid should probably keep his mouth shut about John McCain.

He is right about Joe Lieberman, however. The nutroots basically drove him out of the party.

Maybe Barry

should go after the nutroots for having run Joseph Lieberman out of the Democratic Party following the Lamont debacle, one of the reasons I thoroughly despise the "progressive" blogosphere.

The Lamont thing was a complete and total disaster for the Democrats, and it was unforgivable.

Neither party is officially talking. But while Lieberman spokesman Marshall Whitman says the conversation was "a cordial and friendly discussion" and Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton says it was "private and friendly," Democratic sources tell ABC News that the conversation was a stern rebuke to Lieberman for his criticism of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee on the conference call, as well as a discussion about how far Lieberman is willing to go in his advocacy of McCain, and the tone of the campaign.

"It's one thing to support McCain," said one Democratic source, "but many think Uncle Joe has gone too far."

Too bad, too fucking sad, you corrupt Chicago son of a bitch.

Joe Lieberman

feels liberated from the Democratic Party but still has his head up his ass about Iraq.
