Obama thought he could stop the bleeding, but by remaining in the race he is merely helping John McCain achieve almost certain victory in the fall.
Notice the Republicans have been strangely quiet since McCain got the nomination. Not all of them might like him, but they are rallying around him because they KNOW he will be elected.
