So is Obama acting like an arrogant s.o.b. because he is one, or is he just overconfident of his chances to be president?
If you don't have what it takes to be a successful president and actually campaign at home and answer difficult questions, just go hobnobbing all over the world playacting like you are a president. It proves you are presidential. Reject calls for joint town hall debates, and this proves you are presidential. Keep changing your positions, and this proves you are presidential.
What a mess this campaign season has been.

It might be too little, too late for Obama regarding those Michigan and Florida delegates, but it isn't too late for Hillary Clinton.

Campaign Obscenities
Geez, Barack, how generous of you to push to have Florida and Michigan delegates counted at the convention.
The Audacity of Hype indeed.
The Audacity of Hype indeed.
Campaign Follies.
The DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee Meeting is on right now on C-SPAN.
Hillary Clinton better fight this clear to the convention, despite the desire by many party bigwigs to throw the November election to McCain. That's the only explanation for the bizarre behavior by the party with all of the negative information coming out on Obama.
Seat ALL of the delegates, with the proportion being awarded to Clinton consistent with the percentage of the vote won in the two states. In Michigan, the remaining delegates (40 percent) should be uncommitted, and they can vote for whoever they want at the convention.
The voters cannot be disenfranchised or underrepresented at the convention. It will never fly in the general election.

Campaign Notes.
The one thing the media tries desperately to sweep under the rug is the fact the Democratic nomination for president will NOT be decided before the convention.
Even if the DNC this weekend decides against Hillary Clinton, she is still going to take the fight to the convention.
The media's desperation in wanting a totally unqualified, unfit individual to go up against a qualified, but still unfit yet hugely popular media darling is plainly obvious to all.
_____
So much for Hillary Clinton having a "lesbian lover." Aide Huma Abedin already has a beau, Congressman Anthony Weiner, and it appears to be serious between the two. He travels with her quite often on the Clinton campaign trail.
Too bad, so sad, media shitbags.

Murdoch is wrong about Obama but right about Olbermann.

Hillary Clinton will be taking the Florida/Michigan delegate controversy to the convention floor if the DNC wusses out, as expected.
What in the hell is the matter with the DNC?
What in the hell is the matter with the DNC?
As the Mouth Yaps.
Since the DNC chair is partly responsible for the mess the party is in, and furthermore is in the tank for Obama, he's hardly going to be able to mediate the Florida and Michigan situation.
He can't do it, period.
Whether Dean can broker a compromise and amicably resolve the Florida and Michigan crisis - and then stitch together his party after this year's bruising nomination battle - could go a long way toward determining who is the next president. Some are skeptical about his ability to finesse such a delicate, high-stakes situation.
He can't do it, period.
A "Fair" Proposal?
Lanny Davis tries to propose a reasonable solution to the Florida and Michigan delegate situation:
The Michigan solution is very simple to me: Seat all of the delegates, give those committed to Clinton her share and leave the rest uncommitted, just as they were on the ballot. None would go to Obama since his name was not on the ballot, but if they wanted, the uncommitted delegates could choose him at the convention.
It's very simple. But ALL of the delegates MUST be seated.
Why is that so hard to understand?
_____
The Rules Committee has several options. The fairest would be to allocate those 57 pledged delegates, to Clinton and Obama by the same ratio of their standing to one another in the average of the most recent Michigan statewide polls prior to the Jan. 15 primary. Or perhaps one Solomonic compromise, more generous to Obama than to Clinton, would be to divide the remaining delegates approximately 50-50 between the two of them, 28-27 (giving Clinton the extra delegate since she led in all the latest statewide polls prior to Jan. 15).

Of Course
the Republicans are up to their eyeballs in picking our nominee; if one denies it, one is not paying attention.
All of it is completely legal:
More ratfucking if the media didn't do its job for the GOP and if the open primary and caucus system abuse didn't work.
More:
All of it is completely legal:
The Republican role is not some irrelevant anecdote. The DNC is charged, under its rules, to determine whether the Democrats in a noncompliant state made a "good faith" effort to abide by the party's electoral calendar, and to impose the full weight of its available penalties, namely a 100 percent takedown of a state's delegation, only if Democratic leaders in that state misbehaved. So the fact that it was Republicans who fomented the move-up of primaries in both these states to dates out-of-line with the DNC calendar is at the heart of the matter.
More ratfucking if the media didn't do its job for the GOP and if the open primary and caucus system abuse didn't work.
More:
Florida's Republican governor, Charlie Crist, is, like Granholm, seen as a prime player behind the state's acceleration of the primary calendar. But Crist isn't half the Florida story; Marco Rubio, a Jeb Bush protégé who runs the nearly 2-to-1 Republican Florida House, drove that bill through the legislature like it was a tax cut limited by law to top GOP donors.
Indeed, the tracks under this train wreck trace back, in each case, to Republican maneuvers in state legislatures, political no- man's-lands for all who've blithely dismissed the disenfranchisement of the millions of registered Florida and Michigan Democrats.
Thanks to a Big Time
screwup by the DNC, we will probably lose both Florida and Michigan in the general election:
It's not like we are going to win Florida anyway given the weak candidates we have left, but we will likely lose Michigan as well.

When this election is finally over and when Democrats get their heads handed to them--again--it'll be time for the Mouth to step down as DNC chair.
He has been an utter disaster this year. He's let things get out of control.

Obama knows he can't win as many delegates if a re-vote happens, so he wants an even split of delegates.

Understandably, Obama doesn't want do-overs in Michigan and Florida, both states where he would likely get beat or have far fewer delegates.
He has talked about splitting the delegates 50-50 because he chose to abide by the rules made by the DNC about Michigan and Florida moving up their primaries.
What is so bad is the party is in a no-win situation. If the delegates aren't seated, this will piss off the two states and we probably will lose them in the fall, but if they are seated, there will be squawks against it by Obama's people.
What a disaster the DNC chair is this year. He needs to go when this debacle of an election concludes in November.

Barack Obama is the best thing that ever happened to the Republican Party:

Barack Obama is the best thing that ever happened to the Republican Party:
Considering this view of America, it's not surprising that in December Mr. Wright's church gave an award to Louis Farrakhan for lifetime achievement. In the church magazine, Trumpet, Mr. Wright spoke glowingly of the Nation of Islam leader. "His depth on analysis [sic] when it comes to the racial ills of this nation is astounding and eye-opening," Mr. Wright said of Mr. Farrakhan. "He brings a perspective that is helpful and honest."
After Newsmax broke the story of the award to Farrakhan on Jan. 14, Mr. Obama issued a statement. However, Mr. Obama ignored the main point: that his minister and friend had spoken adoringly of Mr. Farrakhan, and that Mr. Wright's church was behind the award to the Nation of Islam leader.
Instead, Mr. Obama said, "I decry racism and anti-Semitism in every form and strongly condemn the anti-Semitic statements made by Minister Farrakhan. I assume that Trumpet magazine made its own decision to honor Farrakhan based on his efforts to rehabilitate ex-offenders, but it is not a decision with which I agree." Trumpet is owned and produced by Mr. Wright's church out of the church's offices, and Mr. Wright's daughters serve as publisher and executive editor.

Too bad, so sad that Michigan and Florida want to seat their delegates, according to this editorial.

The Florida/Michigan Situation
has turned out to be a total mess for the DNC.
This was totally botched. I don't see Michigan wasting the money on a re-vote.
Just seat the goddamned delegates and work to prevent such a mess in the future.
