A Writing Career is Not in the Works

for Lisa Jo Druck. Not only were her television appearances disastrous, her book isn't selling for crap.

In a few weeks, it will be in the bargain bin, but I doubt booksellers will be able to give the damned thing away.

Her "tell-all" book which trashed Elizabeth Edwards when she was not in a position to defend herself sold an impressive 6,000 copies.

Considering this twerp had no compunction about sleeping with a married public figure, she can be safely called a sociopath.

I doubt she will return to the rock from which she came, but I can always dream.

Outrage certainly isn't a partisan affair (no pun intended).

There is NO excuse whatsoever for a single person (or married private figure) to actively pursue a married public figure. If anything, the person is even MORE culpable than the married party because the person actively seeks a relationship with somebody the whole world knows is married.

Druck only makes Edwards look worse because the world will wonder what in the HELL he ever saw in somebody so cold hearted she would pursue a relationship with somebody obviously stressed out in his marriage thanks to major health crises.

Can't believe anybody can possibly be sympathetic to Lisa Jo Druck now. To trash somebody now that she is dead and can't respond is the ultimate in tackiness.

Supposedly John Edwards has decided to turn his life over completely to a sociopath and wants her to move into the house he once shared with his late estranged wife Elizabeth. As if he couldn't further embarrass himself and his family.

He had the right political message, but similar themes are being spouted by Elizabeth Warren. Warren better not have any scandals in her closet, for I intend to write her name in for president on next year's ballot.

Novelist and convicted killer Michael Peterson has just walked out of jail thanks to a legal technicality. His murder conviction was thrown out by a judge because an expert witness for the prosecution has turned out to be a crook.

That may be true, but there are others who say his wife didn't die in any "accident" down a flight of stairs. We also know about the death of a one-time lady friend of us who "coincidentally" died down a flight of stairs in Germany.

Call me unimpressed. I hope he is sent back to prison. He might not be, though.

Somebody sent me this note, and I thought it was good:

Our enemies are prospering on the graves of our favorite couple.

It's intolerable to me that Elizabeth should be erased as well as John. It's doubly intolerable that apparently, people LIKE the prurience-- even though "The Politician" has no psychological insight of JRE, people are lapping it up like ice cream.

All those months I spent studying sociopathy, coercive persuasion, etc. feel like a waste at this moment. Because I am powerless against the dominant narrative, and apparently people LIKE rewarding those two creeps. Even to the point of the Enquirer possibly winning its FIRST Pulitzer.

I just read a great article, linked to by Meteor Blades on DKos, which is originally from The New Republic, of all places. It's called "Labor Pains" and is about how we're forgetting the importance of not just creating jobs, but creating *meaningful* jobs. And of course, I thought of JRE... how he prospered doing work that was meaningful and that he enjoyed, how lucky he was to be an American doing that, in an economy full of mini-dictatorship retail and service establishments.

How that was what I most admired in him... and how making intellectuality sexy was what I most loved about their marriage. How much I wanted to talk to the whole Edwards family about how special and precious those qualities were, how America would be a much better, happier place to live if we could replicate that experience for as many of us as possible.

I want to get in touch with the "Labor Pains" author, Rochelle G., to tell her the same thing. I want to converse with as many people as I can about whatever pops into my head about democracy, and how to make our lives better.

I hope the people we love come out victorious against this all-out attack on their lives. I hope in the future, people remember the better sides of themselves and start talking about minds and thought processes rather than titillations.

While the media continues to feast on the Edwardses, the country continues to go down the toilet.

"They only communicate through a third party," to work out Edwards visitation, the spokesperson says, and when the former presidential candidate visits daughter Frances Quinn, Hunter is not present.

John Edwards admitted today what everybody in the country already knows.

I am Quinn's father. I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves. I have been able to spend time with her during the past year and trust that future efforts to show her the love and affection she deserves can be done privately and in peace.

It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter and hopefully one day, when she understands, she will forgive me. I have been providing financial support for Quinn and have reached an agreement with her mother to continue providing support in the future.


To all those I have disappointed and hurt, these words will never be enough, but I am truly sorry.

Logic decrees there is very seldom ANY future in being involving with somebody who is married. That's why the person is still married--they chose him or her to stay with and not the third party.

The funny thing is very little of the media have talked about John McCain's first marriage, where not only did he screw around on his health-impaired wife, he dumped her for a far younger, far richer woman.

For the record, "Rielle Hunter" is not the name she was born with. Her real name is Lisa Jo Druck, and her family background is highly distinguished:
