I can about predict Kaine will NOT be the Democratic Party nominee for president in 2024. I was not overly impressed with his style despite the fact he did have the facts on his side.
His demeanor is extremely off-putting.

My view: I give the edge to Mike Pence even though he lied his ass off and Kaine has command of the facts. Kaine did better towards the end when he talked about Russia and about the Clinton and Trump foundations. It is just Pence is a lot more polished and low key, while Kaine just would not shut up. He sounds like Donald Trump, and that is not a good thing. Thank God we are not actually voting for the VPs here, so this debate will have no effect on the polls.
Pence knows he is on a losing ticket, but I think this slick performance might be the starting point of a presidential run in 2020.
Kaine is not Joe Biden. Biden can interrupt, but he is a lot smarter person than Kaine. He is not abrasive.

Highlights of Yesterday's Democratic National Convention
Everybody was talking about Obama's 50-minute speech, but like him as a president in general, I have never been impressed. Obama is not an orator but a lecturer, and his speechwriting skills leave a lot to be desired.
Truly, Michael Bloomberg should have edited Obama's speech. Bloomberg's speech was short and to the point. It was an absolute epic takedown of Donald Trump while at the same time a clear endorsement of Hillary Clinton. It took him 11 minutes to say what took 50 goddamned minutes for Obama to say, and it was far more effective.

Obama forgot to remember that this is supposed to be a support speech for Hillary Clinton,not an acceptance speech or a State of the Union speech.
Contrast that longwinded gasbag's verbal diarrhea to Michael Bloomberg's speech, by far the best of both conventions:

When you have a lot of dishonest whining about Kaine's supposed abortion record, you KNOW the criticism is actually being leveled at the fact he is Catholic.
Never forget that many on the so-called left are just as bigoted as those on the right. Their bigotry tends to be against women, Jewish people, Catholics, and many from Christian sects.
You will never get them to admit it.
The idiot rails against the Hyde Amendment, a law that has been in effect for FORTY YEARS (and renewed thereafter), three years after Roe v. Wade, and when Tim Kaine graduated from high school, for crying out loud. The prohibition of using Medicaid funds for abortion has been around forever. Congress is not going to change the law. I suspect poor women still get abortions. Obviously poor women are still having them without resorting to coat hangers and such.
I was opposed to the Hyde amendment when it became law, but it ain't a deal breaker.
Clinton could have done way worse than Kaine. Case in point: Cory Booker.
One good thing about Kaine is he, unlike Obama, is a big supporter of public education. His wife Ann is Secretary of Education in the state of Virginia.

Richard "Frosty" Frost, a 67-year-old Wisconsin businessman, will lead about 50 people from his hometown of Berlin, Wisc., to Reno this week on a mission to win big money.
Following a tradition of almost a decade, the group plans to start Thursday putting in $15,000 into the Megabucks statewide linked progressive slot game at the Silver Legacy, hoping to win the grand jackpot currently at $10 million.
His group includes about 150 people, who have each ponied up $100 as part of the $15,000 to be played.
"They like the interest, they like the thrill of the idea that $100 might get them $50,000 a piece for a $100 dollar investment," said Frost.

I am an admirer of Tim Kaine, whom I backed in his current position as one of my successors as Virginia governor and even recommended for the vice presidency. But a spate of recent losses in races that Democrats should have won underscores what has been obvious to me for a long time: The chairmanship of the Democratic National Committee is the wrong job for him.

Nobody outside of Virginia has heard of him, he adds nothing to a national ticket, and no Democrat is going to win Virginia anyway, certainly not up against McCain.
