It Isn't Just the Right That Is Sexist

Sex has always been the achilles heel of the so-called left, just as it has been for the right, so men on the left have no business whatsoever being smug against sexist jerks like Mike Huckabee. Let's not kid ourselves here. They are big on pornography and prostitution, both of which are violations of human rights. Many don't regard women as human beings, only as something available for sexual access. Many support abortion because it makes sexual access of women much easier but without the responsibility of pregnancy. They couldn't care less about women's rights to control their fertility. Too many so-called liberals side against feminists like Germaine Greer for telling the truth that men cannot be women. You liberal men are not clean, either.

Miscellaneous Columns

The Washington state murder case wherein four cops were killed marked the end of Mike Huckabee's future political aspirations, just as the Willie Horton case torpedoed Mike Dukakis's presidential run.

Another week, another grotesque mass shooting, in Washington state this time, leaving four police officers dead, four families destroyed and nine children’s lives shattered.

As it’s politically unfashionable to wonder if Americans shouldn’t do more to keep semi-automatic handguns away from crazy people, attention soon focused on why mass murderer Maurice Clemmons wasn’t locked away, where he belonged.

Once again, Mike Huckabee, former Arkansas governor and GOP presidential candidate, struggled to explain his catastrophically poor judgment. Once again, a violent felon turned loose on his say-so had run amok. Once again, according to Huckabee, currently a FOX News channel talk show host, the disaster was everybody’s fault but his own. He issued a buck-passing statement blaming “a series of failures in the criminal justice system in both Arkansas and Washington.”

Assisted by an absurdly deferential Bill O’Reilly on FOX, Huckabee attempted to shift blame to Washington judges who’d freed Clemmons on $150,000 bail pending trial on a charge of child rape. Why, had he known that Clemmons would go berserk, he claimed, he’d never have commuted the man’s sentence in 2000.

The Washington tragedy almost surely marks the end of Huckabee’s political career. Ironically, for once his alibi is more right than wrong. For his own protection and everybody else’s, Clemmons ought to have been inside a locked-down psychiatric unit. The system failed from top to bottom.

More Campaign Nuttiness

as the Obama campaign is said to have hired 400 bloggers to try and intimidate everybody else to fall in line.

As if they really need to hire them; the major of the "progressive" and "liberal" bloggers are in his pocket.

They can forget about yours truly. I never bought his bullshit Kumbaya Politics in the first place.

____

Did Mike Huckabee EVER fuck it up today. The remark was beyond reprehensible.
_____

Well, Yeah,

Chuck, John McCain might be a little long in the tooth, but need I remind you that you Republicans WILL be behind him when he gets the nomination and trounces Clinton or Obama in the GE.

I am predicting your guy Huckabee will be the VP. Just be patient, Chuck.

Unless, of course, John Edwards actually pulls off the impossible.

We, or Rather I,

am waiting with baited breath over the GOP SC primary results.

So far John McCain is ahead of Mike Huckabee, with 43 percent of the precincts reporting.

I Expect

Mike Huckabee to be McCain's running mate.

I know it is presumptuous of me to make a prediction, but the way the media has been in the tank for the senator from Arizona since the 2000 primaries, there is little doubt where the media wants to take Republican voters.

They're being manipulated as much as the Democratic voters.

Now That

the snow has been cleared off my satellite dish, I am able to watch and record the two slugfests of last night. Right now it's the GOP version. I have to say their candidates are stronger than three of the four remaining Democratic ones.

Yes, it is very possible John McCain could return from the political dead, win New Hampshire, and actually get the nomination, despite the fact Republicans are truly fed up with their slate this year. ALL of them have problems, but hell, our dictator got tons of votes and managed to steal two elections, so that doesn't mean anything.

McCain, though, because of his low-key style when his temper doesn't flare up and because of the media loving him when he gave them so much access back in 2000, could be the nominee and be very tough to beat in November. He will be impossible to beat if the currently unvetted Barack Obama somehow gets the nomination (though I really doubt it). Obama would lose to every single one of the GOP candidates, for with all of the base's squawking about the different candidates, they will still vote GOP. They won't vote for Obama for a variety of reasons besides his racial/ethnic/religious background. McCain, for example, will look good by contrast. He's old as the hills, but there is a reassuring demeanor about him masking his hard-right beliefs. He's been peddled as a moderate, which he isn't, thanks to the media whores like Russert, Mike Wallace, and others. The next toughest candidate of the GOP is Huckabee, despite all of HIS problems. He's the GOP's version of Bill Clinton or John Edwards, and he's very damned savvy. I would not be surprised if he and McCain wind up on the same ticket.

If that happens we Dems are in deep shit if we pick an unelectable.

Edwards would stack up extremely well against any of their candidates, but you know as well as I do, he has the media as the main opponent. It will be interesting to see how this whole mess of a primary campaign shakes out.

Campaign Notes.

Will Huckabee's momentum carry him to the nomination?

He'll be on the ticket one way or the other.

Campaign Notes.

It certainly pissed the media and corporate America no end when despite Elizabeth Edwards' cancer diagnosis, she and John persisted with his presidential campaign.

And with that profound thought I am going to be leaving until this evening at around 8 or so. I am taking the bus all the way back to Reno via Sacramento.

That way I will still have a week to relax before having to return to work next Monday.

The only "landslide" involving Obama is the one where he'd lose all fifty states.

Iowa Caucuses.

The polls are all over the place and all should be taken with a grain of salt, given Iowa is a caucus state. This one does show John Edwards starting to pull ahead of his rivals.

And he better win Iowa or we are fucked.

This poll looks good for Edwards.

Edwards did get a newspaper endorsement.

Will Huckabee be able to do it?

If You

want to hear Mike Huckabee speak, you will have to pay through the nose for the privilege.
_____

Good thing Dick Cheney wasn't along.
_____

Campaign Notes.

Can Rudy survive all of the messes he's inflicted upon himself?

Romney is up shit crik in Iowa.

And in New Hampshire, too.

The Media

are building up Mike Huckabee either to tear him down later or to pump him up even more.

Campaign Notes.

Obama, the unwitting ringer-like candidate for the GOP, not surprisingly would consider putting Republicans in his cabinet.

He claims he's confident of his (nonexistent) chances, but he doesn't want to jinx it.
_____

Rudy is as sick of the campaign as we are.

Once again we are treated to bogus Clinton "scandals" by the media.

So why is Mike Huckabee all the talk now?

At least the media likes him, unlike John Edwards.
